COVID-19’s forced almost industry into an abridged version of digital transformation, and all sorts of scenarios never previously thought of, as well as new applications of business communications software are now a reality. A larger number of employees now work from home, many of them, indefinitely, forcing businesses to rethink the way things are done.

Julien Codorniou, VP, Workplace, told UC Today, because of this drastic change, businesses have to prioritize how to keep customers connected and supported, which has a lot of implications, Codorniou added. He believes this could come in the form of reducing employee stress by ensuring accessible remote working policies, checking in on employee morale, and finding ways to help colleagues show solidarity while working from home.

“The features we’re launching today will help organizations manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by connecting employees with each other and the information they need. Right now, the best thing an organization can do right now is to look after its people”

Workplace from Facebook’s latest features include ‘Safety Alerts,’ ‘Q&A Posts,’ ‘Care Reaction,’ ‘Profile Frames,’ ‘Knowledge Library,’ ‘Draft For,’ and ‘Campaigns.’ Safety Alerts are new to the platform, and let businesses send standalone alerts that update employees on new safety measures, work-from-home-policies, and more. Q&A Posts are too, new to the Workplace platform, and let employees add a vote for queries posed by leadership regarding critical matters.

Care Reaction is another new feature that employees can utilize to express workplace solidarity, it allows users to react with a ‘care emoji’ to status updates. There’s also profile frames, which offer similar value. Among the platform’s most useful updates is its ‘Knowledge Library,’ a searchable and shareable space on Workplace. The space centralizes company data as well as documents like policies, employee handbooks, and benefits information.

Vice President and Head of Workplace from Facebook, Karandeep Anand, wrote in a recent blog post: “Knowledge Library is the new home for key company resources on Workplace, a single place to create, store, and share static content like working from home advice or HR and expenses policies. Employees need access to this kind of information on the go.”

Features like ‘Draft For’ and ‘Campaigns’ are the last two updates from the popular workplace communications tool provider, Workplace. This feature, aimed at high-level information sharing and executive communications, management can track group post engagement so they can stay abreast to employee sentiment toward COVID-19.

As of recent, Facebook’s been on a quest to clean up the way its users share information, calling it one of its ‘biggest challenges,’ especially for remote workers who rely on real-time and accurate information during COVID-19. Using its expansive brand to team up with the World Health Organization, Facebook parent company, WhatsApp paired with the WHO to extend a free information sharing service via the popular messaging app.

Anyone who wants free and up-to-date reports, FAQs, etc., about the novel Coronavirus can access it by texting +41 79 893 18 92 or click on this link for more information. Facebook could also be ready to take on Zoom, announcing the launch of ‘Messenger Rooms,’ a very Zoom-like video conferencing service.
