At a time where connections between customers and companies are more important than ever, partnering with the right vendor is essential. McLaren Racing, one of the better-known formula 1 companies in the world, has recently announced a multi-year collaboration with communication leaders, Cisco Webex. This partnership means that Cisco Webex will be the Official Collaboration Partner of the McLaren Racing team.
As part of the partnership, the Cisco Webex platform will be integrated into the McLaren Racing group’s day-to-day activities, driving collaboration across all areas of the team, from various destinations worldwide. The cloud-based suite of tools from Cisco Webex should help McLaren to overcome the geographical boundaries the company faces today. This partnership will also assist in creating virtual experiences to bring partners and fans closer to the team.
The McLaren Slipstream Service
Starting in 2021, the partnership between McLaren Formula 1 and Cisco Webex will power a new service from McLaren called Slipstream. This livestreaming service will be available for McLaren’s partners and will deliver behind-the-scenes exclusive information on the Formula 1 team from McLaren Racing. Since testing the service in Summer 2020, McLaren has used the livestreaming platform to enable guests and partners to enjoy better access to the team from any location.
As part of the collaboration, the side-pods and halos of the McLaren MCL35M racing cars and the racing suits of the F1 drivers will carry Cisco Webex branding. The branding will appear on the suits and cars of McLaren racers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris.
Chief Commercial Officer of McLaren Racing, Mark Waller, said that the company is delighted to announce the new partnership with Cisco Webex and welcome the brand to the team. The ability to connect with people across the globe is crucial to McLaren Racing, especially during this difficult time. McLaren hopes that the partnership will help to bring fans and partners closer to the brand.
GM and SVP of Security and Applications at Cisco, Jeetu Patel, said that now more than ever, innovators like McLaren are seeing the value of enabling world-class technologies to bring audiences together, regardless of distance and location. According to Patel, the Cisco brand is thrilled to be joining forces with McLaren to deliver unmatched levels of immersive experience to the racing company and their partners, fans, and drivers.
