Leading cloud-native communications company, MetaSwitch, recently announced that over fifty operators have now selected the company’s SBC for Microsoft Switch Direct Routing. MetaSwitch says that the easy-to-access Perimeta Session Border Controller is giving more operators the opportunity to deliver Microsoft Teams functionality to users.
Operators say that adding Direct Routing to a Perimeta SBC offers them a fast path solution to enhance their SIP trunking functionality. The MetaSwitch solution allows operators to quickly support customers keen to use Microsoft Teams for making and receiving calls in the Public Switched Telephone Network environment.
The solution is available to deploy in Microsoft Azure, and within the operator’s network. According to MetaSwitch, the Perimeta SBC is a modern and natural way to complement the collaboration environment of Microsoft Teams, helping enterprise customers to integrate the operator’s calling plans and services in Microsoft’s fast-growing platform.
Supporting the Evolving Workplace
Chief Digital Officer for Liquid Telecom, David Behr, said that consumers are now demanding a full range of communication solutions intended to meet the needs of a rapidly changing workplace. The Liquid Telecom brand is now seeing an increased need for Teams connectivity, and the Microsoft 365 Business Voice solution. Through Metaswitch’s SBC, Liquid can quickly and cost-effectively deploy direct routing for Teams, making them a trusted provider of multiple communication services.
Over the years, various operators have built branded communication and collaboration services on Metaswitch’s award-winning platform. Recent events have also driven a significant shift to remote working, with rapid growth in the adoption of Microsoft Teams. Currently, Teams has 115 million users active each day. It’s no wonder that operators want to ensure that they can offer customers a solution that supports the Microsoft Teams ecosystem.
As the demand for Microsoft Teams continues to grow, there’s no doubt that more operators will continue to build their offering on the Perimeta SBC.
A Future in Microsoft Teams
According to Chief Revenue Officer for MetaSwitch, Roger Heinz, the application landscape is changing, and operators need to support customers with the option to integrate calling services into Microsoft Teams. MetaSwitch believes that the high number of operators brought into the Perimeta community, just a few months after its certification is a testament to the quality of the solution. MetaSwitch also believes that the simplicity of the offering makes it a powerful and appealing option for operators keen to begin adding Teams to their solution.
