IGEL has revealed updated features for Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) users. The enhanced IGEL solution will further support collaborative experiences for remote team members. Alongside the release of a new Zoom plugin for Windows Virtual Desktop, IGEL is also introducing support for the FabulaTech webcam, and ThinPrint ezeep cloud printing.

According to Casey Cheyne, VP of Cloud Alliances for IGEL, remote work and the work-from-home landscape is here to stay. The enhanced IGEL offering proves that the company is committed to supporting the customers adopting WVD with solutions that keep users engaged, and productive. The release of the new features, including the Zoom plugin, highlights IGEL’s dedication to creating immersive high-fidelity experiences for users from all backgrounds.

Innovating for the New Age of Work

According to Product Architect of Zoom Video Communications, Simon Booth, IGEL and Zoom are working together to better support remote worker needs.

Aside from integrated support for the Zoom Plugin on Windows Virtual Desktop, the IGEL OS also now includes support for additional productivity solutions. The FabulaTech webcam for remote desktop powers secure access to local USB devices in remote Windows sessions. ThinPrint ezeep for secure cloud printing allows remote workers to print from the cloud too. This ensures that employees don’t have to rely on local resources and can keep data safely encrypted in the print queue.

FabulaTech, Zoom, and ThinPrint ezeep are all members of the IGEL Ready program, which allows any technology partner to ingrate with the core IGEL enterprise software.

A New Era for Cloud Workspaces

The above integrations for Windows Virtual Desktop, including the Zoom plugin, help to underscore how IGEL OS is creating a unique operating system for cloud workspaces. This new offering supports a vast selection of tech integrations and display options from over 100 partners. The offering is a purpose-built solution for virtual environments, based on a modular, highly secure, and read-only Linux solution.

The recent IGEL OS Windows Virtual Desktop enhancements are available for customers upon request and will be included as part of the IGEL OS update 11.05.
