BT is teaming up with Cisco to make Webex a part of the provider’s Wholesale Hosted Communications (WHC) solution.

The addition of Cisco Webex to WHC is a part of BT Wholesale’s strategy to provide channel partners and their customers with the flexibility required for hybrid working.

BT Wholesale noted that this venture makes it one of the first major European service providers to offer this integrated Webex collaboration experience to channel partners and their customers.

The solution also prepares businesses ahead of the 2025 switch-off of the UK’s ISDN and PSTN, signaling a shift for businesses to all-IP, stated Gavin Jones, Channel Director at BT Wholesale adding that the next generation of digital voice services should enable businesses to use the latest technology ahead of the switchover.

“The pandemic has created a market necessity for collaboration and accelerated digital transformation. It is no longer a bonus; it’s an inevitability. But every organisation embarks on a different digital journey – a one size fits all approach doesn’t exist,” Jones stated.

“That’s why it’s vital that we provide the necessary collaboration tools and services to help our channel partners not only navigate through that change, but enable their customers to flourish long after.  With the 2025 switch off on the horizon, it’s our ambition is to offer the technology and support to best prepare businesses.”

The suite of tools is scalable for organisations of all sizes and is supported byt BT’s round-the-clock monitored network. The belend of services through WHC with Cisco Webex allows employees to work as effieicntly and collaboratively from their remote location just as well as they would in an office environment, the service provider added. The solution also supports businesses on their digital transformation journeys.

Jeff Boslem, Regional Director EMEAR Partner Collaboration Sales at Cisco, added: “We are excited to be partnering with BT and their fantastic channel partners to bring to market Wholesale Hosted Communications with Cisco Webex.”
