With many businesses using a variety of carriers and platforms for their voice services, it can be difficult to keep track of all the dispersed telephone numbers. Even at the best of times, the management of numbers is often restricted to offline spreadsheets which are hard to maintain and inevitably become outdated.

It is these real-world struggles that led Pure IP to develop Number Connect the latest addition to their portfolio of end-to-end voice solutions. Number Connect pulls together a customer’s telephone numbers from multiple providers into a single location, giving organisations complete visibility over all of their numbers worldwide. I sat down with Ian Guest, the Marketing Director at Pure IP to find out more.

Number Connect has been designed to help organisations take control of their number management, giving them instant visibility through a single pane of glass. We have found that it has been a useful tool for organisations undergoing some form of technological transition, providing them with a clear understanding of the numbers they have allocated and unallocated.

“But where Number Connect really adds value is in the ongoing management. Unlike in spreadsheets, the data in Number Connect is regularly synchronised to keep it up to date, and is searchable down to a user and number level”

Users can manage their numbers via the Pure IP Customer Portal, with a dashboard that provides visibility of key statistics such as allocated and unallocated numbers, usage, total number of users, and geographic splits. Numbers from Pure IP and Microsoft Teams are automatically synchronised, while users can pull in numbers from other providers through uploads.

The solution delivers a range of benefits:

  • Simplified management of enterprise-wide phone numbers
  • Saved time, effort and cost by reducing manual management processes
  • Reduced need for offline spreadsheets to manage data
  • Improved visibility from a central point
  • Secure and compliant access to data through an online portal
  • Unlimited amount of numbers can be stored

Number Connect works with businesses of all sizes, and will only add more value as organisations scale up, with users spread across multiple sites.

“Gaining visibility over numbers can become harder as an organisation grows, as the systems and technologies that have accumulated over the years provide different levels of information in different formats. A solution like Number Connect, that can bring all that information together in a single interface is a practical step towards consolidating a communications stack and identifying unused services that can be deactivated.”

The launch of Number Connect is the latest in a series of recent service expansion announcements including ReVeal, Connected Voice and  SIP Connect, a SIP endpointbased solution that brings legacy systems and on-premises devices into the cloud.
