Zoom has launched an all-in-one comprehensive events platform which it says combines the reliability and scalability of its Meetings, Chats and Video Webinars
Zoom Events will provide entrepreneurs, small businesses, and large organisations a comprehensive solution to create, host, and monetise events like fitness classes, music or art lessons and theatre presentations.
The platform, which will be available this summer, also comes with capabilities for ticketing, registrations and analytics.
Oded Gal, Chief Product Officer at Zoom, said: “It’s an exciting time to be at Zoom where the pace of innovation continues to accelerate.”
“We know that people are looking for flexibility in how they attend events in the future. The hybrid model is here to stay and Zoom Events is a perfect solution for our customers who are looking to produce and host customer, company, and public events with an easy yet powerful solution.”
“This is another way we’re helping customers scale to meet consumer demands and the evolving virtual and hybrid landscape”
Zoom highlighted eight features when launching the solution:
- Build an event hub to easily manage and share events
- Customizable ticketing and registration
- Control access and billing from one portal
- Host a variety of events – free or paid, one-time or series
- Bring attendees together with integrated networking
- Track event statistics like attendance, registration, revenue, and more
- Events can be kept private or posted to our public directory for others to discover
- Zoom Events can be used with an existing paid Zoom Meetings or Video Webinar licence
The vendor said Zoom Events will appeal to businesses of all sizes and can be used for both internal and external events, including corporate all-hands meetings, user conferences and corporate celebrations.
OnZoom – which was announced last year and is currently in beta testing – will be folded into Zoom Events and serve as a public directory.
Zoom said that Zoom Events is the evolution of OnZoom into a more powerful platform that can meet the needs of businesses of all sizes.
This latest launch comes after Zoom published findings of a detailed research report which found that the majority of people expect events to contain a virtual element even when COVID restrictions have been lifted.
