UC-CC Offering Drives 8×8 Growth

8×8’s combined unified comms and contact centre offering helped drive the vendor’s sales up by 22 percent in Q1.

Revenue for the period ending 30 June 2020 climbed to $148.3m, while annualised recurring revenue (ARR) was up 24 percent to $535.8m.

Dave Sipes (pictured), CEO at 8×8, said: “The first quarter of fiscal 2022 was a significant step forward in the plan I laid out last quarter.

“We beat our financial goals and are raising the bar in fiscal year 2022.

“Our strategic vision, and direction of a unified cloud offering with XCaaS, is being validated in the marketplace, and we’re proud to be delivering today what our competitors are envisioning for the future”

8×8’s Experience-as-a-Service offering was launched in May this year and now accounts for one-third of the vendor’s ARR.

Sipes also highlighted the channel as being key to the sales growth, with channel sales up 35 percent year on year.

He added that Microsoft Teams is a growing opportunity for 8×8.

“We continued our rapid pace of Teams innovation by adding present synchronization to previously announced capabilities such as SMS, MMS and fax,” he said.

“This led to significant adoption and larger deal sizes for our Microsoft Teams offering as well as opportunities to sell additional capabilities such as our 8×8 XCaaS contact centre solution, a Microsoft certified for Teams contact centre solution.”
