Callroute has named Ewan Haig as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Haig comes to Callroute from his role as UK Manager at AudioCodes, a position he held for nearly six years. Prior to his time at AudioCodes, Haig spent over a decade in senior management roles at cloud comms company Dialogic.

“I’m very excited to join such a fast-moving brand with huge potential in the Unified Communications space,” he stated.

“Callroute is an incredibly disruptive company that has really caught my attention, with a unique platform that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I really believe in its mission to transform the way businesses use the PSTN in conjunction with UCaaS platforms such as Microsoft Teams, and I look forward to playing my part in Callroute’s undeniably exciting future”

Toby Gold, CEO of Callroute, added: “We have seen a massive shift towards hybrid working in the last year and a half, and this has only increased the need for unified communications.

“Add in the growth of Microsoft Teams and the demand for integrated calling solutions, and the role of Microsoft Teams external calling is bigger than ever. Through our unique Direct Routing technology and Ewan’s leadership, we aim to meet this demand.”

Callroute was formed by sipsynergy last year to address the challenges around Direct Routing. It specialises in building a UCaaS platform that automates the end-to-end Direct Routing set up, from SBC configuration through to number provisioning and porting.

Gold recently spoke with UC Today about how customers have become more “experimental” with technology adoption and the role telephony now plays in a hybrid working world.
