Slack is seeing a wealth of opportunities from customers of Salesforce following the completion of their merger, UK boss Stuart Templeton has told UC Today.

Salesforce’s acquisition of Slack was announced at the end of last year, before being completed in July.

“I think we’re bringing together two really innovative organisations and we’ve got a huge opportunity to make sales teams and marketing teams more effective,” he said.

“There’s a lot of excitement, both internally and with our customers, in the Slack-first customer 360, bringing Salesforce’s products into the Slack experience and really bringing the power of Customer 360 into channels.

“One of the great things is we’re now part of a bigger organisation with a great deal of mindshare, and hence they’re opening up all sorts of customer opportunities for us.”

The combined company has since given glimpses of how the integration will take shape which, at a high level, culminates in the Slack-First Customer 360 platform.

Within this, there are use cases for different departments including sales, marketing and services.

Optimising these experiences for users will be key focuses for Slack in 2022, Templeton said.

“Our job is to keep making our customers successful,” he added.

“We’re going to put more and more emphasis on delivering the announcements from Dreamforce and delivery deeper capabilities around Slack-first Customer 360.

“How do we enable sales teams to close deals faster? How can we enable services teams to connect to experts more quickly?

“That’s going to be my primary focus – bringing greater speed and agility to customers around how they sell, service and market.”
