BlueJeans has announced support for Microsoft Direct Guest Join, meaning Teams Rooms devices can be used to join BlueJeans meetings.

In a blog post, BlueJeans revealed that Microsoft would also be enabling the function, enabling BlueJeans devices to join Teams meetings.

Satya Prakash Pati, Product Manager at BlueJeans, said: “We are excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Microsoft to boost productivity of hybrid workers.

“As we all look forward to returning to some state of normalcy, we are hopeful that our continued innovation around conference rooms will enable our customers to have confidence, that whether they are extending the value of their existing hardware or purchasing new gear, they will be enabling their end users to stay connected and leverage the power of video to keep their operations running smoothly”

The capability works by using the web-based app for each respective platform, meaning users can join meetings without having to input length meeting ID codes.

The web-enabled room experience will provide basic functionality to control in-room audio and video features. Direct Guest Join is also supported by Webex and Zoom, according to Microsoft.

The interoperability will be available in Q2 of 2022.

BlueJeans recently announced the launch of its virtual office, as well as an upcoming partnership with Google Glass.
