Fuze hosted its second annual productfest, a virtual event that brings together senior Fuze executives and product leaders with attendees. Among the presentations at this year’s event, Rob Scudiere, the President and COO of Fuze, was joined by the company’s Directors of Product Management, Clement Wehrung and Colleen White, plus Liz Dube, Fuze’s Director of User Experience, to detail three key new capabilities the company has brought to market during 2021.

Fuze introduced specialised solutions for manufacturers and recruiters to drive productivity. It has also designed a user experience that blends unified communications and contact centre experience to deliver desktop, mobile and web applications to support the evolving hybrid workplace. Finally, Fuze introduced its Microsoft Teams integration which offers both an embedded integration and streamlined direct routing to allow customers to mix and match licence types.

In addition to these three innovations introduced to meet the needs of the hybrid and evolving workplace, Fuze also made two announcements at productfest 2021. The company announced platform enhancements to deliver improved communication and collaboration for the growing hybrid workforce. These include the addition of new mobile, meeting and admin features as well as Microsoft Teams integration updates to give workers the tools they need to maximise productivity and maintain business continuity in the distributed work environment.

These enhancements are on trend with predictions from analyst firm Gartner that in 2022, 31% of all workers worldwide will be a blend of hybrid and fully remote workers.

“The global workforce has changed dramatically over the past year and a half, and the communications needs of the distributed workforce continue to evolve with it,” said Scudiere.

“Workers need to have the flexibility to easily communicate and collaborate across devices, with their peers and customers from any location. At Fuze, our goal is to meet users where they work and address the communication needs of the modern worker as they continue to evolve, and this platform update is a critical step in doing so during these rapidly changing times”

The new Fuze enhancements include faster and easier interactions for remote workers, improved ability to meet users where they work, regardless of the platform they are on, and better empowerment of customer and partner administrators to support the remote workforce more effectively.

Fuze also unveiled expansions to its manufacturing offerings with the introduction of Walkie-Talkie Mode and the RealWear solution. Fuze Walkie-Talkie Mode combines the familiarity and ease of use of voice with the asynchronous flexibility and immediacy of chat, enabling users to send instant audio messages and have them automatically played upon receipt. This new capability creates a hands-free communication option, while working in the field, on a factory floor, or in transit. In addition, Fuze’s solution added to RealWear’s assisted reality wearable devices provides workers with instant hands-free access to meetings, calling, and messaging within a heads-up display. Operating on an Android mobile device, it utilises a front-facing HD camera to share live video and images with remote experts to help troubleshoot and resolve tasks like equipment maintenance, installation and inspection. Both solutions are directly accessible via the Fuze mobile application.

“These offerings further solidify our dedication to manufacturing customers, as we continue to expand existing solutions and innovate new offerings to support the evolving needs of the industry,” added Scudiere. “There is a critical need for streamlined communications, and our Walkie-Talkie Mode provides the real-time, hands-free touch points needed to keep workforces connected while staying safe. As assisted reality continues to drive the future of remote support in the field, our enterprise-ready solution with RealWear will empower the modern industrial worker to better collaborate, be more productive, and operate safely at the pace required to drive positive business results.”
