Vonage has upgraded its UCaaS and CCaaS video platforms so users can seamlessly switch to a video meeting with one click.
Users of the vendor’s UC offering, Vonage Business Communications (VBC), can escalate calls to video from web-based apps such as spreadsheets or project plans through an embedded dialler powered by Vonage’s APIs.
Meanwhile, users of Vonage’s CCaaS platform, Vonage Contact Center (VCC), can escalate interactions to video within platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, ServiceNow and Zendesk.
Savinay Berry, EVP of Product and Engineering at Vonage, said: “At a time when staying connected is more important than ever, but not very easy to do in person, video has become a critical communication channel.
“With the Vonage Communications Platform, we are innovating on unified communications and contact center applications to create better ways to communicate, connect and engage. Transitioning from voice to SMS to a web app to video in a single click, in a VBC or VCC app”
Earlier this week, Vonage launched Interactive Broadcast with Experience Composer, allowing users to have more interactive and customisable virtual events.
Vonage can now support events with up to 15,000 participants interacting in real-time. Previously, its multiparty video had a maximum capacity of 5,000.
It said that the software allows for programmable video streams, overlays, real-time audience interaction and application UX elements. Sessions can be broadcast to live audiences and recorded for future playback.
