In today’s hybrid workplace more video meetings are taking place across more locations – but participants are not always on a level playing field.
Some sit together in a traditional meeting room whilst others join remotely, so the challenge for organisations is to ensure complete meeting parity with everyone’s voice equally heard.

Indeed, the latest research – from Konftel industry partner Barco – shows there is a hybrid meeting paradox where, on one hand, around 80% of employees want to work remotely but, on the other hand, 71% feel stress or frustration when attending a hybrid meeting.
More specifically, 35% say they find it difficult to engage with others during virtual meetings with one in four finding it difficult to speak up and be heard.
Those employees expect their employers to respond by providing the latest technology, redesigned offices and new internal policies.
As a result, many organisations are creating new ecosystems with a central office used to host clients, foster inspiration and facilitate collaborative sessions – all supported by video conferencing and high-quality end points.
They have invested in high-quality webcams and speakerphones, such as Konftel’s, that deploy auto-framing technology so everyone can be clearly seen wherever they are sat; they ensure a clear line of sight to microphones exists; and they maintain high speed internet to reduce technical issues.
“Slow broadband, background noise and poor hardware are all factors that undermine clear audio, alongside generally-poor room acoustics,” says May.
“User experience is king. We believe organisations need to provide more flexibility and an ‘equal voice’ wherever people are working.
