Kandao has announced that the Kandao Meeting S, 180° portable conferencing camera, has won a Red Dot award for product design.
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions, and has become established internationally as one of the most sought-after marks of quality for good design. Every year, the Red Dot Award for Product Design sets out to find the year’s best products. These products that are selected by the Red Dot Jury to win an award may be aesthetically appealing, functional, smart or innovative, but what they all have in common is their outstanding design.
Kandao Meeting S joins the list of Kandao products that have been recognized by Red Dot for outstanding design, including the flagship Meeting Pro 360° conferencing camera that won a product design award in 2021.
Award Winning Design
Kandao Meeting S takes a different approach from the Meeting Pro and Meeting conferencing cameras. This approach has been inspired by Kandao customers who asked for a device that would allow them to only view half of the room without sacrificing the features that can be found in the other Meeting solutions.
The Meeting S houses a 180° camera which is ideal for remote workers who only need to capture one side of the room. There is also a Full-Duplex audio system made up of an array of eight microphones and Hi-Fi speakers that produce the high quality sound needed to carry out a meeting from up to five meters away.
Users of the Meeting S can take advantage of an internal OS, letting businesses hold meetings without a laptop, and a Bluetooth remote for easy wireless control. Kandao Meeting S is the ideal choice for portable use. With a stylish, easy to use design and flip-over hood doubles as a privacy cover and camera lens protector for when you’re on the go.
This focus on design is at the heart of the Kandao Conference Camera suite of products. Kandao also supplies the ‘Kandao Meeting’ and ‘Kandao Meeting Pro’ conferencing cameras designed to provide businesses with convenient solutions to negate the challenges hybrid working presents them.
Improving Businesses
The World Health Organization has recently said that the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths globally are continuing to fall over the past month. With this in mind, employees are now returning to the office, and upgrading video conference technology has seen an unprecedented increase as a result.
Connectivity technology has largely been blamed for poor participant experiences and meeting quality, but now the equipment that is used is becoming a matter of focus. Kandao Meeting S is a perfect choice for companies because it is an all-in-one solution that is easy to set up.
With the latest suite of conference cameras, Kandao is on a mission to reduce the fatigue that plagues employees working from home. While the quality of sound and vision is clearly important, giving participants a place to look, and clearly defining the important people who need to be listened to in the meeting, alleviates the stress that is felt.
Kandao’s conference cameras use ultra-wide-angle lenses and artificial intelligence software to re-frame the image on the speaker, even if they move around the room as they talk. For presenters, that takes away the limitations of staying within one area and means that they can roam around the room. In turn the remote participants can still engage without wondering where the presenter has gone, or be bothered by only seeing a portion of them.
The tech no longer needs to be a barrier to communication as Kandao offers several framing modes. All participants can be visible on-screen at once, while at the same time View-lock can fix on part of the on-screen image, all of these are essential features for sharing everything from whiteboard diagrams to product samples, without fatiguing participants.
