The service provider, Lumen, has chosen to use Alianza’s cloud communication platform to bolster its voice services, the companies have announced.

Alianza’s platform is specifically built for service providers, and it can be integrated with telecom carriers.

Lumen believes the platform fits well with its main voice products and customer needs and, between them, they will offer an attractive new migration option for legacy voice service customers.

The company has added Lumen Cloud Communications onto the Alianza platform, and it made it the number one option for customers looking for cloud comms solutions.

Scott Velting, VP of Product Management at Lumen, said: “Through Alianza’s platform, we are strengthening our portfolio of next-generation cloud services to enable the speed, scale, and agility the market demands.

“Together, we are uniquely positioned to help Lumen’s customers successfully navigate from legacy voice services to the cloud.

“This helps us achieve our strategic revenue growth goals and differentiates us from over-the-top competitors.

“Alianza’s commitment to supporting our Lumen-branded portfolio with a feature-rich platform, high-quality mobile applications, end-user self-service tools, and a digital-first approach is a great fit with our strategy.”

The key features of Alianza’s platform are feature-rich voice, team messaging, mobile apps, video conferencing, analytics, lift phones, alarming, and security systems. The platform will also help Lumen to create an online portal for customers to manage their services.

Automate provisioning from the Alianza platform allows for remote deployment, easing the burden on its support staff.

Customers will also be able to manage their online orders, adding extensions or direct numbers, for example.

Allegedly, numbers are easily ported and activated for customers when they first sign up.

Brian Beutler, CEO and Founder of Alianza, said: “Lumen partnering with Alianza is another proof point of our leadership in cloud communications for service providers, validation of the telco-grade full-stack platform we have built, and a testament to our culture of innovation and focus on the customer experience.

“We are thrilled to be working with a highly respected, innovative market leader like Lumen as they take bold steps to deliver compelling, high-demand communications services now and into the future.”

Alianza supplies what it claims to be the only true cloud-native, carrier-grade communications platform for service providers. The company currently has over 200 service providers using its technology.

According to Lumen, it provides governments, businesses, and communities in more than 60 countries with unified communications and collaboration platforms.

Lumen has forged other technological alliances in the past, including adding Zoom to its UC&C suite and making Microsoft Teams an option within its portfolio to serve remote workers.

Alianza has recently been on the warpath, dispelling myths and showcasing the benefits of cloud as compared to traditional infrastructure, believing it to be a more cost-effective alternative.

In its recent report, Alianza uncovered that savings could be made on product development (5 – 10%), customer support (15 – 20%), and sales and marketing (10 – 20%).
