Union Street Launches ‘ProfitaBILLity’ Consultancy Service

Union Street Technologies has launched a financial consultancy service, ‘ProfitaBILLity’, which it believes will help its reseller partners cut costs and maximise profit potential.

According to Union Street, the service is being launched in response to the increasing supply chain costs.

The company already has a billing platform called ‘aBILLity’, which it claims is used by over 600 communications providers.

Kevin O’Brien, Chief Financial Officer at Union Street Technologies, said:

“2022 started with a perfect storm of rising costs landing at the same time. 30-year high inflation, the well-documented energy crisis, and rising labour costs brought by increasing wages and national insurance contributions are all putting strain on UK businesses.

“In addition, the channel is being squeezed by the UK’s technology skills gap and price hikes from Microsoft and Amazon for cloud services. With all things considered, it’s more important than ever for resellers to ensure their billing processes are productive and profitable.”

Union Street has outlined the early phases of its service, beginning with one of its consultants assessing billing processes to see if they are as efficient as possible.

A report of the consultant’s findings is then sent to companies and includes any overspending or misbilling which needs to be addressed.

Finally, the consultants will advise the reseller, explaining how ProfitaBILLity can streamline some of the billing and ordering processes and net the highest revenue when setting up new products and services.

O’Brien added: “Channel businesses are faced with a very hard choice of balancing rising costs with winning and maintaining customers in a highly competitive and price-sensitive market. Enhancing the billing process is something that’s perfectly possible for most resellers, but it can be a resource-hungry exercise.

“The ProfitaBILLity service offers a convenient and cost-effective way for resellers to outsource this task to Union Street and, because we have been certified as compliant with Ofcom’s Total Metering and Billing Systems scheme, they can be confident of our expertise and commitment to best practice when it comes to ensuring accuracy.”

It is not yet known whether ProfitaBILLity will replace or run alongside Union Street’s aBILLity billing solution.

A partnership was also formed between aBILLity and Nimans, one of Union Street’s channel partners, who required a scalable billing platform.

Training videos for aBILLity, based on six day-long courses, also went online to help partners get the most out of the software.
