Lifesize Connect Plus+ is now generally available to provide interoperability with Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Zoom.

Lifesize Connect Plus+ is a new DSS feature for its 4k Lifesize Cloud Room hardware, which enables on-demand connectivity to multivendor meetings.

The solution has been designed with hybrid working setups in mind, making it easier for workers to look after customers, collaborate with partners, manage suppliers, and engage with employees.

Trent Waterhouse, CEO of Lifesize, said: “Hybrid meetings are an essential part of every workplace.

“As companies meet with customers, partners, suppliers, and employees, each audience typically prefers a different video meeting vendor.

“Lifesize makes it easy to work together across geographic and meeting vendor boundaries so people can focus on the meeting topic and content – not the meeting room technology.”

Lifesize points to research statistics to validate its new software. It says 62% of organisations use three or more videoconferencing applications for everyday collaborations.

On top of this, Lifesize says that employees are looking for workplace flexibility, but so far collaboration technology has not been meeting demands.

Speaking to co-workers, partners, customers, and suppliers could require multiple applications, which may be challenging to manage as a remote worker successfully.

Users say technology and network issues are major reasons for avoiding video meetings.

Nevertheless, Lifesize argues that videoconferencing is the best way for teams to communicate and collaborate when the participants cannot be together in person.

Lifesize Connect Plus+ helps users quickly move from meeting to meeting without changing devices or setups, solving some technological obstacles to satisfying employees’ flexible working expectations.

Gartner Research Critical Capabilities for Meeting Solutions revealed: “Meeting solutions that support hybrid work arrangements have become a central focus for organisations seeking to meet productivity goals while providing flexible working location options.

“Through 2022, 75% of midsize enterprises will utilise a hybrid model with employees working both from a defined corporate office and from remote locations.”

Lifesize was founded in 2003 and claims to have created the world’s first cloud-based, video-enabled omnichannel contact centre. It serves millions of users through channel partners across more than 100 countries.

Lifesize Connect Plus was initially launched in April, and it follows a long line of updates and video collaboration features.
