Poly has received consecutive certifications from Microsoft Teams and Zoom for its business phones and meeting room devices.

Zoom Phone certified the Poly Edge E Series desk phones, while Teams certified the Poly G7500 video conferencing system. There is also a Teams certification for the Poly Studio X70 video bar expected in November. The Poly Studio X30 and X50 video bars have also been re-certified for Teams.

Poly has also released a number of Teams-integrated solution updates, including Poly Studio Kits, the Poly CCX 350, Poly Rove DECT IP phones, and a new promotional programme.

The announcements came just a day apart while Poly was exhibiting at UC Expo Europe 2022.

Microsoft Teams Integrations and Certifications

Poly has expanded its Microsoft Teams Rooms suite on Android. The Poly G700 video conferencing system has been Teams certified, and the Poly Studio X70 video conferencing bar’s certification will follow soon. Both solutions add greater flexibility to deliver Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android in large and customised spaces. The Poly Video OS 4.0 software update, expected in November, will make Teams available on Poly Studio X70 and G7500.

The re-certified Poly Studio X30 and X50 video bars are designed for Microsoft Teams on Android 10, and they will be available to customers via the Poly Video OS 4.0 update due in November.

Natalia Herrera, Senior Director of Alliances at Poly, said: “Because meetings happen anywhere and everywhere, Poly offers a wide variety and style of solutions for Microsoft Teams, so users can look and sound their best in every meeting.

“Our solutions enable Microsoft Teams customers to easily manage, monitor, and maintain every Poly device across their business, to include remote, hybrid, and on-site workers through a beautifully designed, equitable experience.”

Poly Studio Kits for Teams Rooms on Windows for small, medium and large rooms include Poly DirectorAI technology. From the first quarter of 2023, the Poly Lens insights and remote management allow customers to manage their Teams Rooms on Windows.

Poly is the only Microsoft partner to offer people framing using advanced AI capabilities. This improves the user experience across all sizes of Teams Rooms for Windows. It is also compatible with Android for large rooms using the G7500 and Studio E70 camera.

“My First Room” is a new promotional program being introduced by Poly to enable Windows customers and prospects to try out Teams Rooms.

Albert Kooiman, Senior Director of Microsoft Teams Devices Partner Engineering and Certification, said: “We’re excited to expand our long-time partnership with Poly and continue to deliver solutions that provide flexibility and choice to our joint customers.

“Users can sign in to Teams and confidently take their calls with a consistent, reliable experience, with support worldwide.”

Poly has also expanded its phone integrations with Teams. The wireless, scalable and customisable Poly CCX 350 phone will be available soon, which provides a dial pad with Microban antimicrobial protection. It has been designed to work in a number of sectors, including healthcare, retail, warehousing, manufacturing, hospitality, and more.

The Poly Rove wireless DECT IP phones are also available on the Microsoft Teams SIP Gateway. The phones have been designed for frontline workers in order to communicate using secure, wireless devices.

Zoom Phone Certified Poly Edge E Series

Poly launched the Edge E Series business phones around a month ago, and this week, Poly announced it had received a Zoom Phone certification.

Helen Hawthorn, Head of Solutions Engineering, EMEA at Zoom, said: “We are delighted to be adding Poly’s Edge E Series smart desk phones to our growing portfolio of Zoom-certified devices.

“We are always looking to make a difference in our customers’ hybrid working experience when using Zoom, whether in the office buildings or employees’ home offices.

“With Zoom Phone certification, companies can easily deploy, manage and use Poly smart devices for maximum productivity outcomes.”

The desk phone series has been designed primarily for hybrid working, whether at home or the office.

The Edge E Series features high-quality audio, Poly’s Acoustic Fence, and NoiseBLockAI technologies to remove unwanted background noise. It also has Bluetooth functionality, which lets users pair their headsets with it.

Poly provides troubleshooting and support to its customers to help resolve any issues that may arise.

UC Today’s James Stephen discussed the Poly Edge E Series with Gavin Sear, Director, Theatre Product Marketing at Poly, at UC Expo 2022:

Ahmed Sousa, Senior Director Systems Engineer at Poly, said: “The relationship between Poly and Zoom continues to grow stronger due to our joint focus on delivering better hybrid working experiences whether customers are in the office building spaces or home office spaces.

“Connectivity with other hybrid work colleagues was somewhat disrupted following the pandemic when people started returning to newly designed hot desks and touchdown spaces.”

“With Poly’s new Edge E Series certified for Zoom Phone, both companies are primed to support customers with their digital transformation and office redesign projects and confidently include more accessible hot desks and touchdown spaces for collaboration.”

Poly became a part of HP’s hybrid working solutions portfolio in August of this year. The company creates audio and video products designed for business meetings anywhere.
