HP believes its acquisition of Poly will benefit its revenue and operating profit in 2023 as it aims to create new opportunities in hybrid working solutions.
The company has targeted peripherals and workforce solutions as areas of growth following the acquisition, with the company referencing a report by Frost and Sullivan.
The report found peripherals are a $110 billion segment growing at 9% annually, and workplace solutions are a $120 billion segment growing at 8% annually.
Poly brings several hybrid working solutions to strengthen HP’s position, including software, video conferencing, cameras, voice, headsets, and more.
HP says Poly’s devices will improve its workforce productivity solutions and enable customers to gain greater visibility, security, insights, and manageability.
HP announced it would acquire Poly in March this year. The deal was expected to complete by the end of 2022, subject to crossing various hurdles like receiving Poly’s shareholder approval, which it achieved in June.
Poly’s line of Studio X video bars has recently been announced as among the first Android-based video appliances for Google Meet.
It means that the Studio X product line will join Poly’s growing list of devices that are currently certified for Google Meet, Voice, and Chrome OS.
Poly has confirmed that the Studio X30, Studio X50, Studio X700, and the TC8 controller will offer a native Google Meet experience and deliver a “streamlined, purpose-built experience” for any meeting room.
The certification came weeks after the company received consecutive certifications from Microsoft Teams and Zoom for its business phones and meeting room devices.
Zoom Phone certified the Poly Edge E Series desk phones, while Teams certified the Poly G7500 video conferencing system.
There was also a Teams certification for the Poly Studio X70 video bar expected in November. The Poly Studio X30 and X50 video bars have also been re-certified for Teams.
