Two Shure microphones and the company’s IntelliMix Room audio processing software received certification from Zoom to assure users enjoy exceptional audio performance and ease of integration with the Zoom platform. The Shure Microflex Advance MXA920 ceiling array microphone together with IntelliMix Room received the Zoom Rooms Hardware Certification when paired with Shure’s Microflex MXN5w-C networked loudspeaker. In addition, the Shure MV7 became the first microphone to be certified in the ProMic category of Zoom’s Personal Workspace Certified Hardware.
For hybrid working it is important to equip not only the meeting rooms, but also the teams that are working from home. Having the ideal audio solutions both in the meeting room and on the personal desk can ensure that regardless of where participants are joining the meeting from, they all feel part of the meeting, can participate, and communicate efficiently. To ensure this, Shure continues to work closely with different tech partners and communication platforms and elevates its audio solutions through different certifications.
The Zoom Rooms Hardware Certification for the Shure Microflex Advance MXA920 follows rigorous testing in lab environments and provides assurance for IT and AV professionals that the product delivers the highest standards in collaboration performance. The flexibility in Shure microphones and DSP for Zoom Rooms delivers a best-in-class system to any high-rise conference room or classroom on a campus. The new flagship MXA920 also features Shure’s Automatic Coverage Technology that offers precise control of audio capture with minimal setup, reducing installation time and costs for integrators.
“We are pleased Shure has pursued Zoom Rooms Hardware Certification, which sends a signal to customers that the hardware meets the high-performance standards for Zoom Rooms,” said Eric Yu, the Head of Hardware Partnership at Zoom. “As many organisations look to enable remote collaboration for virtual participants, customers need scalable solutions to virtualise even the most complex hardware spaces.”
Richard Knott, the Senior Manager of Global Systems Alliances at Shure, added: “Achieving Zoom Rooms Hardware Certification on our new MXA920 Microphone with IntelliMix Room software DSP is a big win for Shure and gives customers the certainty that they have a tested and consistent solution for their needs. The innovative technology in both products helps bring the highest quality audio to Zoom Rooms users, easier than ever before by streamlining the number of devices needed and simplifying the end-to-end setup process.”
The Shure MV7, which was designed to elevate the speaker’s voice so everyone experiences clear, rich audio, has rapidly become recognised as a leading microphone for hybrid workers and content creators, and the Zoom certification will help users identify hardware solutions that integrate seamlessly with the Zoom platform. Now, anyone joining a Zoom call with the MV7 can be sure that they will have the highest clarity in audio and their voice will be heard as if they were sitting in the same meeting room. The MV7 is outfitted with Shure’s Voice Isolation Technology to elevate the user’s voice and deliver studio-quality audio for clear communication. The certification underscores that the MV7 has been through comprehensive testing and has met Zoom’s stringent ProMic category requirements.
“Typical laptop microphones aren’t able to deliver the same high-quality audio as an external microphone,” said Paul Crognale, the Associate Director of Musician and Consumer Audio at Shure. “The MV7 is equipped with Voice Isolation Technology to highlight your voice and prevent any unwanted background or room noise from interrupting your audio. The Zoom certification lets you know that the MV7 microphone works with the Zoom platform while providing a high-quality communications experience at your personal workspace.”
Jeff Fox, Zoom’s Strategic Alliances Marketing Lead, added: “Audio quality plays a paramount role in any meeting, presentation, call, or webinar ― especially when you are the presenter. To highlight this importance, Zoom added ProMics as a category to our Hardware Certification Program. We are pleased to include Shure’s MV7 microphone as the first device in this new category to earn this classification. Shure worked closely with our rigorous guidelines to reach certification.”
