Exertis and Poly have partnered to deliver Exertis’s new UC platform, Exertis Voice.
Exertis is pitched as a converged, feature-laden solution that’s streamlined and scalable between one and thousands of users. It intends to fuse unified communications, Software as a Service (SaaS) and deep analytics to provide a one-pane-of-glass service for SMBs or large-scale enterprises.
Exertis and Poly report that 42 percent of SMBs still use analogue PSTN and ISDN lines to support their digital solutions, even though both lines will be turned off in 2025 in favour of digital and cloud-based solutions. This digital transformation, compounded by the rise of hybrid and remote working, encouraged Exertis to build its UCaaS market portfolio. Exertis Voice solutions and Poly hardware intend to make the transition from analogue to digital seamless for customers.
Steve Jobburns, UC&C Manager at Exertis Voice, commented:
2.5 million businesses are still using traditional phone lines, and there’s a huge opportunity for resellers to align themselves with a solution that can help them not only navigate this new approach but to benefit from it. Exertis Voice and Poly provide telecoms solutions that enable resellers to help customers succeed in a hybrid work environment, completely stress-free.”
The specific features advertised are mobile PBX, MS Teams integration, advanced analytics, call recordings with sentiment analysis and transcriptions, call centre features, and video conferencing. It will be supported by Exertis-managed services (including a 24/7 support team).
Exertis and Poly will officially unveil Exertis Voice to a group of resellers and business customers at a launch event on June 22 at London’s Gherkin building. Hosted by Exertis Voice and Poly, this event will cover how both companies are planning for the telecoms industry’s digital transformation after the PSTN and ISDN switch-off in 2025.
“Exertis Voice offers competitive packages that are unlike anything else on the market, with a fully converged solution,” Jobburns added. “The flexible and programmable features that Exertis Voice can provide enable the ideal solution for customers of any size to make their telephony cloud-based. There’s never been a more important time to act.”
Poly Adding Variety of Solutions Addressing Hybrid Working
Partnering with Exertis on Exertis Voice maintains Poly’s strategy of building a portfolio of hybrid work-based offerings, believing that hybrid working will refine the work-from-home and -office balance.
“The old excuse of not having the right technology available in the home, office building or remote location is now obsolete,” Claire Dutton, Senior Manager, UK & Ireland at Poly Hybrid Solutions at HP, told UC Today last year. “In 2023, technology can’t be the excuse for poor experiences – employers should have systems in place to ensure every worker gets the right technology they require for hybrid working purposes.”
Last year, Poly received consecutive certifications from Microsoft Teams and Zoom for its business phones and meeting room devices.
Zoom Phone certified the Poly Edge E Series desk phones, while Teams certified the Poly G7500 video conferencing system. There was also a Teams certification for the Poly Studio X70 video bar, while the Poly Studio X30 and X50 video bars were also re-certified for Teams.
Earlier this year, Pexip partnered with Poly to offer secure video collaboration solutions for privacy-conscious customers.
The partnership entailed leveraging Pexip’s business video infrastructure with Poly’s video pro-grade technology. The planned outcome is dependable, seamless and powerful video experiences accessible from anywhere and on any device while being fully secure.
Exertis Wide-Ranging Portfolio has Grown Extensively in Recent Years
Exertis processed its biggest-ever acquisition in December 2021 with Almo Corporation as a subsidiary of the multi-industry group DCC. The Almo buy was based on an initial enterprise value of around $610m on a cash-free and debt-free basis.
Last year, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) signed Exertis as its latest UK distributor. The partnership saw ALE’s networking portfolio, including fixed LAN and wireless LAN switches, become a crucial brand in the broadliner’s enterprise network offering.
Meanwhile, as a distributor, Exertis collaborated with Barco to extend the latter’s ClickShare collaboration tool this year in the UK and Ireland.
