Another day of Cisco Live means another day of exciting announcements, including the reveal of three compelling Webex partnerships.
Webex’s Partnership with AI Data Platform Aware to Deliver AI-Powered Insights
AI data platform Aware and Webex have announced a partnership, meaning Aware’s AI-powered insights platform will be integrated with Webex Messaging.
Webex customers will have access to Aware’s data-driven insights to discover operational pain points, reinforce employee engagement and deliver a better customer experience.
Jeff Schumann, CEO at Aware, commented:
We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Webex and deliver Aware’s industry-leading solutions to more customers. At Aware, we understand that employees hold the answers to unlocking innovation and top-line growth. This partnership enables Webex customers to cut through the noise of collaboration data and take a data-driven approach to making informed business decisions.”
Aware’s Webex integration is optional for Webex customers.
Webex Partners with Crewdle To Produce More Sustainable Approaches to Collaboration
Decentralised streaming company Crewdle has partnered with Webex to “revolutionise the way teams collaborate while championing eco-friendly practices,” according to their shared announcement.
In practice, the partnership will integrate Crewdle’s streaming capabilities into Webex Messaging to provide users with enhanced collaboration experiences while reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional streaming solutions.
The integration simplifies collaboration so users can create Crewdle meeting links directly within their Webex conversations. It also leverages Webex’s secure and high-quality video conferencing power. This allows meetings to become not only more efficient but more environmentally responsible.
Crewdle’s decentralised streaming technology is built on a peer-to-peer network protocol utilising WebRTC to ensure improved video conferencing experiences for Webex users. Users can benefit from reduced latency, increased quality, and improved reliability.
Cisco and AT&T Reveal New Series of Collaborative Solutions
Cisco and AT&T have revealed new solutions to improve connectivity and calling for hybrid workers, including Cisco’s Webex Calling and SD-WAN offerings supported by AT&T’s mobile network.
One of the most significant new solutions is seamless and native integration between AT&T’s network and Webex Calling to “ensure a seamless and reliable mobile-first collaboration experience, allowing users the flexibility to take calls across multiple devices while travelling for work, running errands, and more” as the product’s announcement described it.
Among the key features is a single mobile number identity, which combines the capabilities of an AT&T wireless smartphone with Webex Calling to provide greater functionality. The integration means users will also have reduced costs as it reduces or eliminates traditional fixed business line requirements.
Another prominent feature is “AT&T Cloud Voice with Webex Go”, allowing users to make and receive business calls using AT&T’s nationwide mobile network while elevating calls to a Webex collaboration experience across the app and all devices, with capabilities including noise removal, closed captioning and white boarding.
A further collaborative solution is Cisco and AT&T’s project to bring secure on-demand connectivity for SD-WAN with additional services that could include mobile 5G and fibre broadband to businesses of every size. For SMBs, AT&T is releasing a self-service option to simplify and accelerate SD-WAN deployment using AT&T Business Wi-Fi with Cisco Meraki.
AT&T SD-WAN with Cisco is a fully managed connectivity product with embedded security and analytics for larger, global enterprises. Businesses can connect a user or device to any application in their multi-cloud using secure access service edge (SASE)-enabled architecture.
“The network is at the core of the modern workforce. The ability to get things done is no longer reliant on where you are, but how you are connected,” said Jonathan Davidson, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Networking. “Together with AT&T, we are giving businesses what they need to securely connect everything and everyone—wherever they are. Because when everything is connected, then anything is possible.”
A Busy Cisco Live for Webex News
Tuesday saw a raft of other compelling Webex announcements at Cisco Live.
The Room Bar Pro was announced as a device designed to maximise the collaboration potential of Cisco’s RoomOS platform. The Pro is an easy-to-deploy video bar with significant processing power, multiple connections, touchscreen integration, and advanced AI capabilities built into the RoomOS platform.
Cisco recently announced “cinematic meetings”, an AI-powered update incorporated within RoomOS to dynamically change the camerawork of any meeting to give participants the best view at any moment. The Pro will leverage this solution.
Cisco had previously revealed that Cisco devices would support a native Microsoft Teams Rooms experience, and now Cisco confirmed a series of certified devices for Microsoft Teams Rooms. These include the Cisco Room Bar, the Cisco Board Pro, the Cisco Desk Pro, and the newly announced Cisco Room Bar Pro.
Also incorporated into Cisco’s RoomOS, customers who use a native Teams Room experience will have access to Cisco’s additional capabilities, including built-in audio and video intelligence, such as noise removal and Frames.
Lastly, Cisco introduced a new device management solution called “Control Hub”. Control Hub offers IT teams or business leaders a birds-eye view of workspaces while giving multiple filtering options. With this general view, admins can track Cisco (or partner) devices in each room and manage the health of the devices’ connections.
IT teams can track environmental data such as room temperature and humidity. The Control Hub’s usage data and workspace insights allow IT admins or business leaders to make informed decisions about their deployments.
