Variphy has launched analytics products for Webex and Zoom to help organisations better manage ever-more complex UCaaS systems.
Variphy’s analytics products have a range of features designed to empower IT professionals to gain deeper insights into their communication systems.
Comprehensive Call Detail Record (CDR) analytics and reporting enables users to analyse call data more effectively, with the ability to collect and store data in an on-premise database.
Enhanced Reporting Configuration, meanwhile, empowers users to go beyond surface-level reporting; they can dive deep into analytics, gaining valuable insights into call patterns, usage trends, and performance metrics.
At the products’ core is an aim to simplify UC management as more and more organisations adopt a multi-cloud approach.
“Over the past five years or so, there has been significant growth in UCaaS systems, prompting people to migrate from traditional on-premise systems they had managed for decades,” Kyle Aebischer, Product Manager, Variphy, said.
“When the pandemic struck, it accelerated the timeline for adopting these new systems. This unexpected surge in adoption highlighted the need for us to provide support and enable our customers to access the analytics they desire and require.
“Additionally, we noticed a trend among enterprises over the past few years, as they increasingly adopted complex systems comprising multiple platforms.
“Recognising the value in offering a unified solution to analyse data from each of these platforms, we took the decision to add support for these systems, and we aim to continue adding support for other platforms in the future.”
What are the Benefits?
Variphy, founded in 2004, initially focused on helping organizations streamline and troubleshoot Cisco deployments through remote phone control and As-Built documentation.
Over time, the company expanded its portfolio to address other customer pain points, leading to the development of change management, CDR reporting, and analytics features. Recognising the growing popularity of UCaaS systems such as Zoom Phone and Webex Calling, Variphy embarked on expanding its analytics capabilities to support these platforms.
Aebischer said companies that will see particular benefits will be in regulated verticals like financial services, healthcare, government and education.
Benefits of the analytics products include:
- Improved Data Retention: By allowing organisations to store call data for longer periods, Variphy addresses compliance requirements and provides a centralised repository for historical analytics. This enables IT professionals to conduct in-depth audits, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions.
- Advanced Reporting Capabilities: Variphy’s robust reporting configuration tool empowers IT professionals to extract valuable insights from their communication systems. The ability to generate custom reports enhances visibility into call metrics, user activity, and system performance, aiding in troubleshooting and optimisation.
- Non-Admin Access to Analytics: Unlike many built-in analytics solutions, Variphy enables non-admin users to access and utilise the analytics platform. This feature is especially valuable for organisations where specific departments or users require access to reporting and analytics without administrative privileges.
Looking to the Future
Variphy is focused on expanding its analytics offerings and delivering enhanced features to its users. Aebischer hinted at future developments, including support for Microsoft Teams, contact centres for Webex and Zoom, and reporting capabilities for Zoom SMS.
“That’s what we’ve got on the horizon, and we’re really excited about it,” he said. “We’re moving really fast – faster than we ever have – so it’s going to be a great year.”
