Magewell’s USB Capture HDMI and USB Capture HDMI Plus have received a Zoom certification for wired content capture with Zoom Rooms.
The USB capture devices allow AV professionals and systems integrators to easily integrate high-quality video and audio signals into software solutions.
According to the video interface innovator, Magewell, the Zoom certification “reinforces the devices’ leadership” as the “preferred choice” among AV professionals and systems integrators.
Nick Ma, CEO and CTO of Magewell. believes Zoom’s certification will help to garner trust in its products: “Our USB Capture and USB Capture Plus devices have already been popular with Zoom users because of their reliability and plug-and-play ease of use, which makes them the simplest way to bring high-quality AV signals into the Zoom software.
“The new official Zoom certification for these devices will give integrators and end-customers an added level of confidence that our products have been thoroughly tested for assured compatibility.”
USB Capture devices feature driver-free installation and automatic input format detection and support Windows, Mac, Linux, and ChromeOS operating systems.
They are also compatible with popular video conferencing, streaming, encoding, live production, and lecture capture software. Magewell’s USB Capture product page lists Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Skype for Business, Google Hangout, GoToMeeting, VLC, OBS Studio, and XSplit as compatible software.
USB Capture Plus models have all the same capabilities as USB Capture, but extra features, including an analogue audio input, stereo headphone output, and loop-through connectivity to send source signals to a monitor or projector without using a splitter or router.
Magewell also offers configurations with 4K resolution and SDI input connectivity, on top of the Zoom-certified devices with 1080p HDMI inputs.
Eric Yu, Head of Hardware Partnership at Zoom, pointed out that Magewell’s USB capture devices are not new to its users: “We are pleased to welcome Magewell to our Zoom Rooms certification program.
“Many Zoom customers have been successfully using Magewell’s USB Capture and USB Capture Plus with Zoom and Zoom Rooms for years, and certifying these capture devices will help further ensure our mutual customers’ satisfaction today and in the future.”
