RingCentral and Vodafone have partnered to deliver its shared UC and collaboration solution to Spain.
RingCentral and Vodafone’s One Net Unite con RingCentral offering will provide Spain-based businesses greater flexibility in the way they work in the age of hybrid and remote working while preserving effective collaboration. The secure and agile platform streamlines communications between employees, customers and suppliers.
Yves Desmet, SVP International Service Providers at RingCentral, said:
We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Vodafone Spain as we continue to expand our presence in Europe to bring best-of-breed communications solutions to businesses of all sizes. Leveraging RingCentral’s robust communications capabilities, ‘One Net Unite con RingCentral’ delivers a solution that powers productivity and flexibility to enable different ways of working.”
The One Net Unite con RingCentral solution leverages RingCentral’s collaboration feature sets — encompassing messaging, video meetings, file sharing, and task management — with Vodafone’s communications services, including call queueing and holding, call transfer, time frame setting, and customized voicemail.
Furthermore, the platform is entirely on the cloud, granting availability to everyone via any device at any time.
“The collaboration with RingCentral allows us to address companies’ needs through a differentiating solution that will make a real breakthrough in their relationship with customers and employees and will boost new work productivity,” added Jesús Suso, Head of Vodafone Business in Spain. “With solutions like this, Vodafone Business reaffirms its commitment to help companies in their digitalization process and in their adaptation to future trends, which includes the increase of flexible and remote working.”
The solution is relevant to existing One Net customers who are seeking improved collaboration capabilities as well as potential new customers looking to drive greater business efficiencies through cloud-first communications and collaboration solutions.
RingCentral and Vodafone’s Expansion
Spain isn’t the first country this year that RingCentral and Vodafone have expanded into this year.
In May, Vodafone Portugal and RingCentral announced the Vodafone One Net TeamCollaboration with RingCentral UCaaS solution to empower hybrid and remote working for Portugal-based workers.
The collaboration entails RingCentral’s messaging and video collaboration functionalities being combined with Vodafone’s fixed and mobile voice communications capabilities into one platform. Although Portugal-based workers already had access to Vodafone Business UC with RingCentral offering, this new cloud-based solution allows these employees to work collaboratively from any device and in any location.
In April, RingCentral and Vodafone upgraded their shared collaboration and calling platform to improve the experience of mobile users.
The two vendors launched updates to their Vodafone Business Unified Communications (VBUC) platform, powered by Vodafone’s mobile network and RingCentral’s mobile applications. These offer users a unified experience for making calls, sending messages, and launching HD-quality video meetings. The ambition is to transform a user’s iOS or Android device into an extension of their office.
A Busy Year for RingCentral
RingCentral has had a busy year, including launching its new AI-powered solution, RingSense, but it had an especially hectic August.
The company unveiled a new CEO in Tarek Robbiati as visionary leader Vlad Shmunis announced he was standing down after almost 25 years at the helm — a decision that saw RingCentral’s stock plunged 18.6 percent in the wake of the news.
Shmunis has transitioned to the role of Executive Chairman with a remit of driving RingCentral’s strategic product vision and innovation.
Robbiati had been a member of the RingCentral Board of Directors since last December and was formerly Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Finance and Strategy at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Robbiati became CEO effective August 28, 2023.
Robbiati’s CV illustrated almost three decades as a respected strategic and financial operator, renowned for his leadership roles within the telecom, media, technology and financial services industries.
RingCentral also launched two new solutions: the native, AI-powered contact centre solution, RingCX, and RingSense for Phone.
RingCX is an easy-to-deploy offering that combines RingCentral’s central UC services — including message, video, phone, SMS, and fax — with contact centre boosted by a generative AI feature set. The end product is a next-gen, AI-powered solution that offers a complete, native omnichannel experience and enhances customer journeys.
RingSense for Phone leverages AI to allow businesses to turn their voice conversation data into valuable insights that can enhance productivity and business outcomes.
