Momentum has acquired the leading managed services provider (MSP) Horizon Telecom.

Momentum has brought the Netherlands-based MSP to strengthen its ambition of providing extensive global solutions and reaffirms its standing in the communications space. The inclusion of Horizon Telecom enriches Momentum’s workplace service offerings, facilitating the success of international businesses through a robust customer migration process for enterprise voice, Microsoft Teams, SD-WAN, and managed network solutions.

Todd Zittrouer, CEO of Momentum, commented:

We are thrilled to welcome Horizon Telecom into the Momentum family. This acquisition is a significant milestone for us as it not only expands our global reach while enhancing our capabilities to provide unparalleled services to our customers. Together, we are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of businesses worldwide.”

Horizon Telecom’s introduction to the Momentum portfolio means the latter can offer public switched telephone network (PSTN) replacement services across 72 countries and have number availability in over 150 countries, representing a truly global voice offering.

“We are happy to join forces with Momentum to enhance our global outreach and better serve customers. Our commitment to customer happiness, embodied by Horizon Telecom’s vibrant team, remains steadfast. This exciting journey will accelerate our growth in Europe, driven by shared values and a customer-centric ethos”, added Melvin Jellesma, CEO and Founder of Horizon Telecom.

Horizon Telecom represents Momentum’s seventh acquisition and serves as a strategic entry point into the European market, establishing a solid foundation for expanded international capabilities. This acquisition enhances Momentum’s position in the European market and underscores its dedication to delivering high-quality communication solutions globally.

“This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for Horizon Telecom, enabling us to combine our global expertise and innovation with Momentum, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of shaping the future of communications on a global scale,” said Bert Kamper, CTO and Founder of Horizon Telecom.

Jellesma and Kamper will stay with the combined business to oversee the European branch, while the Horizon Telecom brand will be preserved. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Momentum’s ‘Momentum’ with Major Acquisitions

It’s been a momentous time for Momentum, with major acquisitions affirming its impressive communications portfolio. One of the most significant was its bringing G12 Communications into the fold.

Momentum’s addition of G12’s services as a Seattle-based provider of voice-enabled and Operator Connect Microsoft Teams solutions was intended to enhance its communications portfolio. The process entails integrating G12’s leading executive talent while affirming its status as a leading voice-enablement platform for Teams.

Momentum described the acquisition of G12 as a significant milestone in Momentum’s growth strategy and dedication to offering advanced communication products to its customers. By introducing G12’s expertise in voice-enabled Microsoft Teams and Operator Connect solutions to Momentum’s suite, Momentum stated that it was prepared to deliver an “unparalleled suite of services to customers”.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision of enabling businesses to thrive by communicating and collaborating more effectively,” Zittrouer said after the deal was finalised. “Microsoft Teams has become a vital tool for the modern workplace, and by enhancing our capabilities with the expertise of the G12 team, we are helping our customers optimise their hybrid work environments.”

Momentum also recently acquired Asset Black, another MSP, which Momentum anticipated would expand the reach of its managed network offering.
