RingCentral Launches RingEX To Enhance the Employee Experience

RingCentral has unveiled RingEX, a new solution designed to enhance the employee experience.

RingEX with RingSense AI offers AI capabilities across phone calls, SMS, meetings, and messaging. This includes real-time call notes, messaging recap, and generative AI search across conversations. It also incorporates purpose-built AI to enhance personal productivity and business collaboration, integrated across RingCentral’s suite, including RingEX, RingCX, RingSense for Sales, and RingCentral Events to foster efficiency and teamwork.

Vlad Shmunis, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of RingCentral, said:

AI brings a shift from unifying communication modes and functionality to merging employee and customer experiences, and it’s exciting. Building on our battle-tested, mission-critical platform, we are delivering AI that is purpose-built for specific use cases to drive tangible value – from enhancing everyday productivity to driving interaction efficiencies.”

Revealed at Enterprise Connect this week, RingEX is a transformation of RingSense MVP and is now infused with RingSense AI’s revolutionary capabilities. This upgrade intends to support every employee in an organisation, from customer service to sales and marketing, with personalised and context-aware interactions to “make every conversation smarter and workday more efficient”, as RingCentral described.

“RingSense AI unlocks data-rich conversations across phone calls, messaging, video meetings, and contact centre interactions to deliver actionable insights that inform more intelligent workflows,” Shmunis added.

RingSense AI for RingEX is currently rolling out in preview among select customers. More details on pricing and specifics will be available in the coming months.

RingSenseAI for RingEX’s Feature Set

RingCentral says it is “among the first” to offer a complete AI-powered solution across message, video, and phone.

Among the capabilities underpinning RingSense AI for RingEX is real-time note-taking. This drives phone conversations with a personal AI assistant for real-time note-taking, capturing outstanding questions and action items.

Powerful conversational intelligence is another crucial feature. This offers AI-generated distilled summaries, notes, action items, and recording highlights, capturing the context of conversations to make engagements more personalised. Meanwhile, unread message recap offers AI-produced summaries of missed team messages in group chats for swift catch-up.

RingEX’s AI writer and translator for messages service writes polished chat messages, maintaining the context of conversations in the style and length users prefer. Additionally, it accurately translates messages into Spanish, French, German, Chinese, or English.

Generative AI search utilises AI to search for information from conversations across phone, SMS, and voicemails. This feature is scheduled for availability in Summer 2024. AI search in email, meetings, and chat will be coming soon.

Lastly is the advanced meetings and summaries functionality. These automatically generate video “highlight reels” and searchable text summaries of meetings. Additionally, they generate keyword-based clips, transcripts, summaries, topic lists, and replays by specific speakers.

What Else Has RingCentral Been Up To In 2024?

In February, RingCentral reported several high-profile UCaaS wins as it reported its quarterly earnings.

The vendor reported a sales increase of nine percent year on year for the quarter ending 31 December 2023, above the midpoint of its guidance.

On an earnings call with investors, CEO Shmunis highlighted the growth RingCentral has seen in the enterprise space, which is outpacing the wider business. Figures released ahead of the call showed that enterprise customers’ annualised recurring revenue (ARR) topped $1bn for the first time.

Shmunis illustrated these figures by revealing UCaaS contract wins without naming the customers. However, Shmunis also referred to a 15,000-seat deal won with Ikea in conjunction with Vodafone, with which RingCentral partners in Europe.

Earlier this month, RingCentral and Optus partnered to deliver a new solution to empower communications for Australian businesses.

The co-branded solution, Optus Loop with RingCentral, aims to support comms for businesses of all sizes by utilising RingCentral’s reliable, secure, and feature-rich communications platform.

The service affords enterprises an agile, cost-effective, cloud-based offering to galvanise improved collaboration and communication among employees, customers, and suppliers. Accessible from any device and location, it always enables seamless connectivity.
