Yealink’s New MVC S40: AI-Driven Video Conferences for Small to Medium-Sized Rooms

Hybrid meetings constantly present a demand for more immersive experiences, allowing for utmost participant engagement that mimics face-to-face meetings as much as possible.

With the vision of making feature-rich, high-quality video conferencing available to as many meeting rooms as possible, Yealink has recently launched its S40 as part of its MVC series – an AI-driven small to medium-sized meeting room solution for Microsoft Teams Rooms.

“We believe that advanced video conferencing experiences should be available to meeting rooms of all shapes and sizes,” says Fuhan Lee, Product Marketing Lead at Yealink.

“With the addition of S40 to our MVC portfolio, the latest generation of our AI features becomes accessible to the full breadth of meeting room sizes, from huddle rooms to Pro-AV rooms,” he adds.

S40: Advanced AI Functionality for Small to Medium-Sized Rooms

Yealink’s S40 solution offers a rich mix of AI-powered video conferencing features with powerful hardware, intending to cater to all the needs of small to medium-sized meeting rooms.

With a dual-eye camera system, AI-enhanced audio, wireless sharing, and BYOD capabilities, the goal is maximizing the potential of hybrid meetings, boosting efficiency, engagement, and meeting equity.

“The most special part about this product is its two 48-megapixel lenses that stitch two tele-lens images into a single 120°, wide-angle field of view,” Lee shares.

“This enables an exceptional image quality for the larger medium-sized meeting rooms, even when the speaker is located 6 meters away from the camera.”

Another key feature of the S40 is its on-device IntelliFocus capability, allowing for smooth screen-switching and displaying close-ups of the four last active meeting participants alongside a room view.

“Compared to traditional AI features like auto framing or speaker tracking, IntelliFocus is about the conversation, rather than the individual speaker talking at the moment,” Lee explains.

In the audio department, the S40 boasts 2 built-in stereo speakers, an 8 MEMS microphone array, a 6-meter voice pickup range, and AI-enhanced noise cancellation.

Other features include a video fence, allowing users to set a defined area for the microphone and camera to pick up on, a shared virtual background, Microsoft Copilot, and support of a 100%-wireless meeting experience with the WPP30 presentation pod.

And there’s more to come:

“The next stage is providing a table camera as a companion device for the S40, with the estimated release time being Q4 this year,” Lee shares.

About the MVC Series

With the addition of S40 for small to medium-size rooms, the MVC series now covers a full range, including S60 for huddle rooms and small signature rooms, and S90 for large and ProAV spaces.

Other than catering to all room sizes, MVC devices offer premium AI-driven features, a completely wireless meeting experience, and simple deployment.

“Our vision for advanced video conferencing is comprised of three stages,” Fuhan shares.

Yealink’s first stage is ‘efficient’ – with features like auto framing and speaker tracking; the second is ‘immersive’ – with multi-focus, multi-stream, spatial audio, and advanced noise canceling; and the third is ‘intelligent’, which is where they are currently.

“The ‘intelligent’ stage is about AI-driven capabilities like the Copilot, people recognition, and intelligent voice perception; and it’s constantly evolving to include new features.”

Trade-In Campaign for Yealink MVC Series Devices

With the announcement about Microsoft discontinuing maintenance for Windows 10 in 2025, Yealink has recognized a great timing for companies to upgrade their video conferencing setup, launching a trade-in program for older devices.

“Since many companies will upgrade their Windows-based devices to avoid security risks, we want to help mitigate this transition,” Fuhan explains.

However, it’s important to note that the campaign is for anyone wanting to upgrade – Windows or not.

“All they have to do is fill in the details of their existing video conferencing devices (whether they’re ours or other vendors’) and we’ll give them a discount of up to 35% on a new device from the MVC series.”
