Barco has upgraded its flagship ClickShare hybrid meeting bar with dual display support alongside several other key features.

Announced as part of the vendor’s ClickShare summer feature update, Barco is enhancing the ClickShare bar with dual display support to allow users to view participants and content across two screens or in full resolution. Barco has also bolstered the video bar with stereo sound support, the capability for Microsoft Teams to compile usage data in ClickShare-powered rooms, a new control panel accessible via the ClickShare desktop app, and Miracast content sharing.

Barco’s official summer update wrote for ClickShare:

The ClickShare Video Bar Pro now supports dual display, enabling you to view people and content simultaneously on two screens or to see content in full resolution when in-room participants are sharing. This facilitates better visualisation, better communication and makes remote participants truly feel heard and seen.”

More Details On The Other New Features

Barco suggests that ClickShare’s compatibility with stereo sound will also produce a more immersive experience for participants, with clearer sound when sharing content with audio in the room.

Barco insists the new control panel for the ClickShare video bar will enable instant control over an organisation’s video conferencing environment without compromising the flow of meetings. It can be accessed directly from the ClickShare Desktop App or by pressing the ClickShare button.

Using the new control panel, users and admins can switch between Group, Speaker, and Composition framing to keep participants centred, regardless of presentation style. Camera direction and zoom can be fine-tuned for clear visibility and detail focus. Volume can also be adjusted to suit room size and clarity for all attendees. These features aim to streamline meetings, making them more dynamic and accessible.

The ClickShare Video Bar’s new Miracast feature enhances content-sharing flexibility. Miracast, a wireless technology, allows users to project their laptop screen onto the room display without needing a Wi-Fi connection. Alongside AirPlay and Google Chromecast support, Miracast ensures convenient content sharing for all users, making the ClickShare Video Bar a versatile tool for idea exchange.

In February, Barco’s collaboration with ClickShare and Microsoft integration empowered ClickShare devices to begin providing usage data to Microsoft’s Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal.

The latest update expands these capabilities to the ClickShare Button, allowing Microsoft Teams to collect and organise usage data by room in the Portal. Previously, all ClickShare Buttons were displayed as a single device in the Portal. Each button is uniquely identified and linked to its specific meeting room. It is shown separately, offering IT managers detailed insights into room usage, occupancy, device inventory, and more, enhancing overall meeting management.

Lastly, Barco’s update introduces the LocalView disable option. This allows for increased privacy and control over the content displayed on-screen. IT admins can deactivate the LocalView feature through a simple toggle switch or checkbox within the ClickShare web interface and the XMS Cloud management platform.

What Else Has Barco Been Up To Recently?

Last month, Barco adopted Microsoft‘s Device Ecosystem Platform for future ClickShare solutions and enhancements.

This operating system features built-in security, IT-friendly capabilities, and enterprise-grade functionalities, allowing the Barco team further to enhance ClickShare’s renowned simplicity and user experience.

By integrating the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform into its upcoming ClickShare offerings, Barco is poised to leverage an Android-based framework that empowers device manufacturers and software developers to create cutting-edge solutions. Supported by Microsoft’s renowned security, trust, and management, this collaboration will enable ClickShare to maintain its trademark ease of use and exceptional user experience in partnership with its customers and partners.

In May, Barco announced that its ClickShare Bar range of devices was formally certified as carbon neutral.

Barco’s CO2-neutral certification by climate advisory organisation CO2logic marks the ClickShare Bar range as the second ClickShare product to receive the CO2-neutral label, following the ClickShare Conference CX-50 2nd generation. By announcing that the ClickShare Bar is “the first carbon-neutral video bar for wireless conferencing on the market,” Barco reaffirms its commitment to climate action and celebrates a significant milestone in its journey toward offering a fully carbon-neutral solution.
