Philips and Sembly AI Launch Intelligent Audio Recorders

Philips Speech and Sembly AI have introduced new audio recorders with built-in AI meeting technology.

The intelligent audio recorders can provide automatic recording transcriptions, summaries, action lists, and insights.

Leading voice technology innovator, Philips Speech by Speech Processing Solutions, partnered with the voice and conversation analytics company Sembly AI to add a total of three new products to its audio recorder range.

Dr. Thomas Brauner, CEO of Speech Processing Solutions, points to some of the benefits of using its latest audio recorders: “We are delighted to announce that our partnership with Sembly AI opens up new market opportunities by combining the best of both worlds.

“By providing top-of-the-line audio recorders paired with an AI meeting assistant, we can offer automatic transcriptions, summaries, and action lists for every recording, whether it’s a lecture or a meeting.

“Our innovative solutions enable busy professionals to save time and conduct meetings more efficiently than ever.”

In-Built AI Meeting Tech

The Philips VoiceTracer Audio Recorder DVT4115 and DVT6115 were designed for students, according to Philips’ related press release.

They include 3MICs for long-distance audio recording, which Sembly’s technology can then transcribe and summarise.

The Philips VoiceTracer DVT8115 has a 360-degree microphone that Philips suggests would be ideal for recording meeting minutes, with Sembly’s ‘easy share’ feature to rapidly share audio content and accompanying action steps.

Sembly AI was founded in 2019 and, since then, it has expanded to provide a long list of features, such as automatic transcription, meeting notes, summaries, and action points.

Now, Sembly AI is capable of delivering professional AI insights into meetings and conversations to enhance collaboration and ease decision-making.

Gil Makleff, CEO and Co-founder of Sembly AI, also outlined some of the gains customers can expect “Our latest AI technology seamlessly integrates with Philips products, adding value whether customers are in the office or on the go.

“Sembly AI now offers much more than just meeting minutes and we are fully committed to offer new AI services in the coming weeks and months.

“We are proud to collaborate with Philips to enhance the customer experience, empowering users to unlock the full potential of their audio recordings and maximize productivity.”

The new devices are all compatible with Sembly AI’s software and have been added to the Philips’ portfolio of audio recorders and conference microphones.

Philips were included in this year’s UC Today market map of top collaboration display vendors. The company’s series of devices comprise various sizes and styles of screens to choose from for interactive signage, collaboration, and more.

Philips SpeechLive Meets Nuance Dragon

In April 2024, the latest Philips SpeechLive dictation and transcription solution integrated Nuance Dragon speech recognition. Philips believes that this technological addition will help to raise efficiency, streamline workflows, and support legal professionals around the world.

Philips SpeechLive is a cloud solution that converts spoken words into text with flexibility and cross-platform compatibility, including the ability to record straight from your PC or Mac via a smartphone app for Android or iOS. It can also be used with Apple devices like MacBook, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

Whether you want to collaborate as part of a team or work alone, SpeechLive has a number of virtual workflows that could simplify and improve your recording and transcription processes.
