Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Bars Certified For Microsoft Teams

Sennheiser has announced that its TeamConnect bars have been certified for Microsoft Teams.

This certification enables Microsoft Teams users to engage in hybrid meetings that merge Sennheiser’s advanced audio quality with 4K Ultra HD video.

The latest expansions to the Sennheiser TeamConnect (TC) series, the TC Bars, are offered in two variants to accommodate different meeting room dimensions. The TeamConnect Bar S is designed with four microphones and two speakers, ideal for smaller spaces, while the TeamConnect Bar M boasts six microphones and four speakers, perfect for larger areas.

“We are so pleased that our TeamConnect Bars have joined the other members of our TeamConnect Family to become Certified for Microsoft Teams,” said Charlie Jones, Sennheiser’s Global Alliance and Partnership Manager.

Certification for Teams has become essential for our meeting solutions, as we consistently receive feedback on the benefits our customers experience using our products in Microsoft Teams Rooms. The new TeamConnect Bars represent another robust Sennheiser solution, delivering clear audio, and for the first time, video, to Teams meetings.”

Sennheiser suggests the TC Bars are designed for seamless installation, offering a plug-and-play experience with simple USB connectivity. They feature the same integrated beamforming technology in the TC Ceiling solutions, which supports fluid movement and smooth presenter transitions.

The accompanying camera is enhanced with advanced AI functionalities, including auto-framing and person tiling, to optimise the visual experience. The full-range stereo speakers are engineered to produce natural voice quality and exceptional speech clarity for audio.

Moreover, the TC Bars enhance room adaptability and scalability with their built-in Dante port for extra microphones and the option to integrate an external USB camera, accommodating spaces that demand wider coverage. They offer multiple mounting alternatives and can be remotely managed through the Sennheiser Control Cockpit, ensuring easy integration into diverse environments.

“As we continue to recognise the essential role of audio clarity in today’s dynamic meeting environments, we are pleased to welcome Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Bars into the Microsoft Teams ecosystem,” added Albert Kooiman, Senior Director, Microsoft Teams Partner Engineering and Certification at Microsoft. “Sennheiser’s nearly 80-year legacy in high-quality audio continues with the TeamConnect Bar, seamlessly integrating with Microsoft Teams to enhance meeting experiences.”

What Else Has Sennheiser Been Up To Recently?

Last month, London’s Science Museum received integrated audio solutions from Sennheiser and Neumann.

The new audio products were installed within the museum’s Immersive Technology Experience Centre (ITEC), a multi-room hub designed by event technologies and services provider d&b group. This centre offers visitors a range of immersive experiences and sensory engagements through advanced technologies such as VR, XR, spatial audio, and virtual production.

Meanwhile, in February, the University of Greenwich strategically partnered with Sennheiser and AVer to elevate its hybrid learning experience. The higher education institution utilised AVer’s cameras and Sennheiser’s audio products and services, namely its TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC 2) microphone, to create an innovative “HyFlex” solution.

During the pandemic, the University transitioned to remote learning using Microsoft Teams with reasonable success. However, they encountered new challenges, including fatigue and decreased student concentration levels. Mark Affection, Head of Digital AV Solutions at the University of Greenwich, and his AV team responded by designing the HyFlex model. This model aimed to create a cohesive and equitable learning experience for both on-campus and remote participants.

That same month, Sennheiser and Q-SYS’s combined solution — their audio, video, and control (AV&C) Platform — was certified for Cisco Collaboration Devices.

The certification validates the integration of Cisco’s Collaboration Devices with Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Ceiling 2 and the Q-SYS Core Nano processor. The integration significantly enhances audio connectivity and control functionalities in contemporary meeting and learning environments. Cisco Collaboration Devices provide robust video conferencing capabilities, facilitating a wide range of collaboration scenarios.
