Based on careful consideration of market trends and partner feedback, industry veteran Bicom Systems has recently decided to integrate their video conferencing solution as a built-in module within their comprehensive UC Solution. Bicom Systems’ video conferencing solution, previously delivered separately as gloCOM Meeting, is gradually being combined into the larger solution, gloCOM.

In a talk with Vesna GlavaÅ¡-Hrustić Product Owner – gloCOM Meeting at Bicom Systems, we discussed the ongoing relevance of video conferencing, the increasing demand for all-in-one solutions, and potential benefits for Bicom Systems’ partners and end users.

The gloCOM Evolution

In 2004, Bicom Systems started as pioneers in the VoIP solution market. Over the years, they’ve evolved into a UC solution provider, starting with a desktop app and later adding mobile and web apps, all working together as one ecosystem. When COVID happened, making virtual meeting tools an absolute must in any portfolio, Bicom Systems realized it was time to add a video conferencing solution to that ecosystem as well. Utilizing Web RTC, they developed gloCOM Meeting.

“At the beginning, the idea was to deliver gloCOM Meeting as a separate video conferencing solution,” GlavaÅ¡-Hrustić shares.

However, since Bicom Systems realized their end users wanted to access multiple tools within a single application, they decided to integrate it into the larger UC solution. As Bicom Systems natively developed both solutions, their integration was quite seamless.

“This is a huge advantage both for us and for our customer base, as it means we were able to put these pieces of the puzzle together to create one comprehensive solution.”

One Piece of a Larger Puzzle

Today, gloCOM Meeting functions as the video module of the larger gloCOM UC solution. gloCOM offers a myriad of benefits, tightly integrating with Bicom Systems’ VoIP telephony platform and supporting chat, SMS, video, CRM integration, and more. But its deep value lies in being one piece of a larger puzzle: the Bicom Systems ecosystem.

“For our platform users, resellers, and partners, the video module is one piece of the puzzle that makes our solution valuable to them,” GlavaÅ¡-Hrustić explains.

“When we add new ingredients to this ecosystem – like we’re now doing with the video module – our partners can deliver a more comprehensive offering to the end users, letting them tap into more capabilities in a single click.”

Maximal Flexibility

Another key differentiator of Bicom Systems’ gloCOM solution is the scope of deployment flexibility it can offer. All pieces comprising the solution can be deployed on-premises, in the cloud, or rented; and it can also be white-labeled or privately labeled.

“We’re one of the most stable UC solutions in the market, with many of our partners staying with us for over 20 years now,” GlavaÅ¡-Hrustić notes.

“I believe this loyalty can be largely attributed to our deployment flexibility, as well as our ability to deliver a natively developed solution with full in-house support.”

Bicom Systems: A Partner-First Provider

Speaking of partner loyalty, Bicom Systems truly put their partners first, only selling through resellers and partners and strictly refusing to market their solutions directly to the end users.

“We want to be known as a safe zone for our partners to be able to sell our solution, whether it’s under our brand, white labeled, or under their own brand,” GlavaÅ¡-Hrustić clarifies.

In fact, Bicom Systems’ decision to integrate their video solution as a module within gloCOM is in great part thanks to these close relationships with partners, paying close attention to their feedback.

“Our partners are our eyes and ears out there in the market – they see the opportunities, so when they come to us with feedback, we do our best to implement it,” she shares.

“We like to see ourselves as a solution provider for our partners, rather than a service provider. Our partners, in turn, are service providers for the end users.”

gloCOM for UC: Now with Built-in Video Meeting Features

While the video conferencing capability itself is already available to users within the larger gloCOM solution, full integration of meeting management features is currently in progress.

“The integration for the mobile app is already available for beta users and should be available to all users by the end of September,” GlavaÅ¡-Hrustić shares.

“We’re moving towards full integration and are constantly implementing the most recent technologies to make us more agile, flexible, and faster to adjust and to deliver to our partners and customer base.”
