Boom Collaboration has introduced the “powerful” new connectivity hub ZYGO, which it says will simplify conferencing connectivity and enhance the quality of meetings.

The video conferencing hardware solutions specialists Boom Collaboration published a blog post recently explaining that the hub has multiple 4K screen and camera connectivity, a single cable connection for reduced cable clutter, and individual device charging as an option.

It described the docking station as a “compact” device that it developed to meet the increasing demands for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and plug-and-play conferencing solutions.

Boom Co-Founder, Fredrik Hörnkvist, outlines some of the major benefits of the new connectivity hub: “Our whole ethos is around creating better meetings simply and the ZYGO is another important step forward in what is a continuing pursuit of excellence.

It’s the ultimate hub for seamless meeting connectivity and in many ways the missing link for simple and streamlined conferencing deployments, with a wealth of connectivity.”

“Furthermore, the ZYGO gives the user complete control rather than being locked into a specific system with a narrow set of options.”

The device’s advantages continue, according to Boom, as ZYGO has triple 4K display connections and legacy options, and it is not tied to any one platform, making it a flexible solution that can easily be incorporated into a meeting setup.

The connectivity hub also includes two USB-C 10G ports, four USB_A 5G ports, a 1 GbE LAN port for a quicker internet connection, and a mounting kit.

A video conferencing room hub is essentially a device which connects and centralises disparate meeting technologies.

Room hubs can enable various features besides video conferencing, such as device integration, wireless connectivity, room scheduling, calendar integrations, analytics, cable management, and more.

Boom Co-Founder Holli Hulett: “Gone are the days of a big clunky piece of hardware sat gathering dust in the corner of a boardroom because no one knew how to use it.

“The market is definitely maturing now with some organisations having to replace their previous equipment bought during the mad rush of Covid.

“USB connectivity is the way forward for many and is becoming widespread across our product portfolio.

“We like to bring something different to the table and are ideally suited to help customers capitalise on the latest market trends.

Easy connectivity and high-performance hardware helps create better meetings, simply.”

In April this year, Boom Collaboration signed a big US distribution deal with network supply specialist Flytec Computers.

The Florida-based Flytec secured access to Boom’s range of advanced conferencing solutions, spanning from plug-and-play devices to fully integrated room systems, all aimed at simplifying meetings and enhancing their quality.

Boom also began 2024 by launching its all-in-one Boom HALO video bar, which promised a seamless collaboration experience.

Boom HALO features a 4K UHD camera, six microphone arrays and high-fidelity speakers.

Available through distributor Westcoast, its advanced capabilities encompass facial recognition, speaker tracking, intelligent noise reduction, and AI auto-framing.

Boom Collaboration is a Texas-based company founded in 2020 by Hörnkvist and Hulett that has rapidly expanded its comprehensive conferencing portfolio following a successful expansion program last year.
