Intermedia is enhancing enterprise communications and collaboration with the launch of Unite for Microsoft Teams Advanced.

This integration elevates Teams’ capabilities by merging with Intermedia’s suite of advanced comms features. Businesses can leverage these tools directly within the Teams environment, streamlining their operations and removing the necessity for a separate phone license, simplifying their communication infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to introduce our Intermedia Unite for Teams Advanced, a solution that takes Microsoft Teams to the next level,” said Irina Shamkova, Chief Product Officer at Intermedia.

By integrating advanced telephony features directly inside of Teams, we provide businesses with a powerful single app experience to enhance their communications, collaboration, customer support, and overall productivity. Plus, this seamless integration eliminates the need for users to have a separate Teams phone license, making it easier and more cost-effective for businesses to operate.”

Intermedia underlines that Unite is an advanced collaboration and communication platform that integrates various services such as voice, video, chat/SMS, contact centre, file management, and archiving into a single, secure, and reliable platform.

For Microsoft Teams users, Unite for Teams Advanced enhances the platform’s inherent capabilities by adding Unite’s enterprise-grade business phone features. This completes the suite and transforms it into a fully integrated cloud communications platform. This addition fills the gap for Teams users, providing a comprehensive set of tools for seamless collaboration and communication.

Intermedia stresses that the integration offers its channel partners a premier solution to present to their clients. By incorporating advanced communication features within Teams, partners can serve the extensive user base of Microsoft’s comms platform, enhancing their offerings and fostering revenue growth.

“Planned upcoming releases will expand the integration to incorporate our contact centre agent and supervisor experience directly within Microsoft Teams, helping businesses to better manage advanced calling, customer interactions, and team collaboration all from within a single platform,” Shamkova continued.

“This enhancement underscores Intermedia’s commitment to providing a full suite of communications and collaboration services and features tailored to the needs of business customers.”

What Has Intermedia Been Up To Recently?

Intermedia secured $350 million in refinancing in April in a significant boost for its growth strategy.

Intermedia secured new financing by entering into a revolving credit facility and term loan agreement with some of its existing lenders. These loans are designed to give Intermedia increased flexibility to invest in its business, and repayment is scheduled for April 2029.

The company emphasises that this refinancing is a result of its strong financial performance, which highlights significant growth in revenues and profitability.

Meanwhile, in May, Intermedia announced that its Intermedia Contact Center solution was certified for Microsoft Teams.

The Intermedia Contact Center offers comprehensive omnichannel capabilities, including phone, email, and SMS, alongside advanced call routing, automated workflows, reporting and analysis, and quality control management. These features reduce handle times, increase first-contact resolutions, and significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

Leveraging its status as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for over 15 years, Intermedia affirms it’s ideally positioned to deliver top-tier contact centre services.
