On July 17th, MAXHUB announced its new partnership with Catalonia-based football club RCD Espanyol, becoming the club’s official exclusive flat panel supplier. As a leading global provider of integrated communication and display solutions, the collaboration is a significant milestone, marking their official entrance into the Tech for Sports arena.

Competing in Spain’s top professional football league, La Liga, RCDE boasts a rich history and presence in both national and international sports. With the recently announced partnership, the club will get to enjoy MAXHUB’s cutting-edge display solutions, enhancing communication, presentation, and collaboration.

“Our advanced flat panels are a perfect fit with RCDE’s ongoing commitment to excellence and community engagement so we couldn’t be more thrilled about this partnership,” shares Kevin Wang, Head of Sales EU at MAXHUB.

In a recent talk with Wang, we explored the significance of the collaboration for both parties and MAXHUB’s business vision and plans.

Why Tech for Sports, and Why Now?

While MAXHUB’s choice to join forces with one of Europe’s most well-known football clubs is undoubtedly exciting, it’s far from being obvious. So, what drove this unique decision and its particular timing?

MAXHUB was established in 2017 and started its global business in 2019, making it a rather young brand. From its inception, the company has solidified its reputation by serving enterprises in various business sectors, but sports remained an uncharted territory. This makes the collaboration with RCDE a significant milestone not only in the business aspect but also in the way MAXHUB brands itself to its audience.

“While our resellers are well-versed in Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) and LED, many of our potential end users might not be familiar with this jargon. But they are familiar with football and RCDE,” Wang explains.

Other than being a valuable opportunity to tap into a larger audience, there’s also another branding advantage to sports: the widely positive associations it induces.

“Sport is extremely positive – it’s all about physical activity, bringing people together, and fostering healthy competition,” Wang notes. “We are delighted to work with RCD Espanyol, a football club with a rich history and values that match our own, characterize by hard work, dedication, and a humble spirit.”

Timing-wise, considering the busy sporting season worldwide, MAXHUB thought this a particularly good timing to get into what they refer to as Tech for Sports. But there were also some extra-specific reasons why they chose RCDE for it: the club’s home base is in Barcelona, which is also the location of MAXHUB’s most important industry exhibition, ISE.

“Working with them can open up some amazing opportunities for us, such as inviting players to join MAXHUB at the exhibition and discover the latest collaboration solutions.”

Of course, one of the key considerations in choosing RCDE was their wide recognition and appreciation worldwide. In becoming the club’s official flat panel supplier, MAXHUB gets to deliver its solutions to a like-minded partner, keeping excellence and professionalism top of mind.

Elevated Coaching and Training Experience

Let’s talk business: what will MAXHUB provide RCDE with?

As the exclusive official supplier of interactive flat panels for RCD Espanyol, MAXHUB is dedicated to promoting sports development by equipping the club with advanced communication and display solutions to elevate athletic performance. Among the solutions now featuring in RCDE’s facilities are MAXHUB’s flat panels, Microsoft Teams Rooms devices, and smart displays. This should allow coaches to more effectively demonstrate strategies, review games, and explain player positions – all crucial elements in competitive sports.

Antoni Alegre, Deputy General Manager of RCD Espanyol, says: “Other than supporting training and education, the agreement with MAXHUB will allow us to increase the productivity of the commercial and administrative aspects of the Club.”

MAXHUB’s products will be installed in various locations across RCDE’s grounds, such as locker rooms, board rooms, meeting rooms and the Juan Segura Palomares Press Conference Room. Among others, these include the IFP V6 Classic Series, certified MAXHUB XT series for Microsoft Teams Rooms, and 220″ all-in-one LED display Raptor Series.

“We’re delighted to work with RCD Espanyol, a football club with a rich history and values that match our own,” says David Meng, President of Global Business Group at MAXHUB.

“It’s our great honor to provide our technology know-how to such an illustrious football club, and we’re excited to be part of their upcoming season.”

MAXHUB’s Vision: Broadening Tech for Sports Endeavors

As for MAXHUB’s overarching vision as a provider of integrated communication and display solutions, the company aspires to achieve further collaborations in the sports industry.

“We hope this to be one of many different collaborations in sports, and we’re aiming to expand our endeavors in this field,” Wang says.
