DisplayNote has upgraded its platform with several compelling features to enhance and streamline screen sharing on collaboration displays.
The Belfast-based collaboration technology vendor has added new capabilities to its platform, including greater session control, infrared remote controls, and more. This update intends to afford DisplayNote users more flexibility and control via more sophisticated content sharing and advanced device discovery.
DisplayNote’s announcement blog wrote:
Our latest update introduces a redefined way of joining for those educators, presenters and facilitators who need enhanced control and freedom in their screen sharing session. We’ve also expanded our hardware compatibility, with improved consistency when sharing content and standardized device discovery.”
The “Control Your Session” feature empowers users to manage screen sharing directly from their personal devices, which should allow smoother control over the session’s flow. When integrated with Moderator Mode, DisplayNote outlines that it restricts screen sharing to only invited participants, enabling presenters to securely and efficiently manage sessions from anywhere in the room.
“Our ‘Control Your Session’ feature gives users unmatched flexibility, allowing them to manage screen sharing seamlessly from their personal devices,” said Luke McSorley, Head of Product at DisplayNote. “Combined with Moderator Mode, it ensures that only authorised participants can share content, giving presenters complete control over their sessions.
More Information On The Update’s Other Features
DisplayNote also enhanced its compatibility with infrared remote controls, simplifying user interaction with screens on both interactive and non-touch displays. This expansion intends to allow screen manufacturers to offer hardware solutions that accommodate a broader range of users, providing greater flexibility and ease of use across various environments.
“Additionally, by expanding compatibility with infrared remotes, we’re enabling easier interaction with both touch and non-touch displays, providing greater versatility for screen manufacturers and end-users alike,” said McSorley.
DisplayNote also announced a Device Discovery feature that should make connecting to devices more straightforward. This capability ensures that the Room Name serves as a consistent identifier, whether using AirPlay, Miracast, or Google Cast. This consistency aims to reduce confusion and enable quick, hassle-free connections.
In addition, the “share a window” option has been expanded to include audio sharing. This enhancement is designed to give users a richer, more immersive experience, making presentations and collaborations more engaging.
Lastly, users can now access tutorials, guides, and support through the newly integrated DisplayNote Academy link on the join page. This resource is intended to help users find the information they need to maximise DisplayNote’s features.
DisplayNote, Promethean Partner On Advanced Meeting Room Solutions
Earlier this month, DisplayNote and Promethean partnered to deliver advanced meeting room solutions.
DisplayNote has announced that its call and app-launching product, Launcher, will now be bundled with Promethean’s ActivPanel displays. This collaboration aims to enhance business communications and optimise the meeting room experience by directly integrating seamless access to calendars, calls, and content from the display.
Launcher’s interface is pitched as an innovative and secure way for users to interact with meeting room displays. It provides quick access to calendars, one-touch call initiation, and content retrieval. It is compatible with leading video conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, GoToMeeting, and Google Meet. It allows companies to utilise various UC platforms without being locked into a single provider.
According to DisplayNote, the bundled solution is designed for corporate offices and higher education institutions, providing a versatile and user-friendly approach to meeting room technology.
