The Nenuphar restaurant and hotel selected Philips Professional Displays (PPDS) to replace its paper-based posters with digital communications.

Despite being a historic establishment dating back to 1795, the Nenuphar chose to look for a modern solution for its customer communications that would deliver a low-cost and sustainable alternative to paper.

With the support of the local AV integration specialist, TechWorks, it quickly found the Philips Tableau Advanced Colour ePaper digital signage series by PPDS to be the “clear choice” to align with the owners’ vision.

Nenuphar integrated four 25” portable models in the establishment’s bar, restaurant, event, and restroom areas, with the option to move them elsewhere as needed.

Kurt Vangerven, Sales Manager Benelux at PPDS, shared his enthusiasm for the digital transformation at the Nenuphar: “At PPDS, we’re committed to supporting our customers, not only in supplying them with industry-leading, and often world-first, visual solutions but also in helping them achieve their sustainability goals—something as a business we’re incredibly passionate about.”

It’s always an exciting moment when we are able to help likeminded businesses like Nenuphar achieve their sustainable ambitions and we were delighted they selected Philips Tableaux to revolutionise their in-house communications.”

‘Zero Power’ Displays

The Philips displays were integrated into the Nanuphar without reportedly affecting carefully curated surroundings and consuming close to zero power.

According to PPDS, Philips Tableaux is a “technological breakthrough” and the first ACeP display series launched by a global display manufacturer.

The range of displays, including 13” and 32” displays, offers a new level of energy savings while producing vivid images 24 hours a day without using even a kilowatt of power for days, weeks, and perhaps years.

These high-quality images are made up of 60,000 colours within the Philips Tableaux 4150 to create an “eye-catching” picture.

New content, such as special offers, restaurant menus, safety messaging, and more, can easily be added to all or some of the displays.

Weighing just 3.5 kgs, the installation uses and locations are unlimited as the displays do not even require power points.

Staff can create a content playlist that appears at predetermined times of the day, whether it is changes to the menu, in-house marketing, or business branding for corporate events.

Content can also be added spontaneously to provide real-time information. Examples of this could be weather updates, in-house promotions, congratulatory messages for those celebrating an occasion, stag parties, and sporting events.

An Android System on Chip also provides secure remote management options for simplified content updates.

Philips shared that the installation was a success, as it was completed on time with minimal disruption to the business.

Moreover, paper wastage and poster printing costs have now come down, and new opportunities have emerged as a direct result of the installation.

Guillaume De Breyne, Operational Director at Nenuphar, offered his feedback about the new devices:

Our new Philips Tableaux digital poster displays fit right into the ethos and the aesthetics of Nenuphar, enabling us to take a more sustainable approach that looks great and enhances our brand.”

Earlier this month, PPDS launched a plugin to connect the Q-SYS platform with its displays.

Philips digital signage, interactive displays, and All-in-One LED walls designed on Android SoC can now be integrated into the Q-SYS platform via the plugin.

In July, Philips Speech and Sembly AI launched new audio recorders with built-in AI meeting technology.

The intelligent audio recorders can provide automatic recording transcriptions, summaries, action lists, and insights.
