Neat has named Tormod Ree its new Chief Product and Engineering Officer to elevate the company’s innovation during its current growth period.

In his new role, Ree will manage Neat’s software and hardware engineering, product management, product marketing, strategy, and design, driving innovation and excellence in the company’s offerings. Neat describes Ree as a seasoned executive with extensive leadership experience across multiple technology companies.

Before joining Neat, Neat outlines that Ree served as Vice President of Avigilon Alta Video for Motorola Solutions and was previously the CEO and Co-founder of Ava Unified Security, which was acquired by Motorola in 2023. Earlier in his career, he was Senior Director and General Manager at Cisco, where he led the development of the Spark Board (now Webex Board).

Neat asserts that Ree’s appointment marks a step in its Norwegian R&D expansion, a cornerstone of the company’s broader global growth strategy. As part of this initiative, Neat says it plans to double its Norway-based workforce within the next 18 months and has recently expanded its office space in Oslo.

Additionally, the company has opened its first Neat Experience Center in San Jose, California, and is actively exploring locations in other key markets, including London.

What Else Has Neat Been Up To Recently?

In October, Neat announced its new Board Pro solution for advanced video conferencing in medium-to-large meeting rooms.

The latest addition to its Board series is the Neat Board Pro, a 65-inch all-in-one device designed to elevate meeting experiences with advanced audio and video capabilities.

The Neat Board Pro integrates seamlessly with popular video conferencing platforms and includes a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) mode. It also provides access to an expanding array of business applications through the newly launched Neat App Hub, offering users greater choice and flexibility in their workflows. This innovation aims to transform how teams meet, collaborate, and create, redefining modern workplace interactions.

Meanwhile, in September, Neat announced its “pioneering” App Hub, which is generally available and encompasses an application marketplace.

The Neat App Hub serves as a development platform hosting various applications through its newly launched App Marketplace. These include workplace experience apps, custom web apps, and tools designed for collaborative shared spaces. Applications can be deployed onto Neat devices via Neat Pulse, a cloud-based platform offering comprehensive control and management of all connected devices.
