Employee experience platform Achievers has launched a new app for Microsoft Teams to reward workers seamlessly within the collaboration tool.
Achievers, a leading recognition and rewards platform for employee experience, has announced two highly anticipated features for its Teams app. Users can now send recognitions directly during Teams meetings, enhancing real-time engagement. They can also customise organisational branding to align with specific customer or program names.

Since 2023, Achievers says its app for Microsoft Teams has seen a significant rise in monthly active users, increasing by over 100,000. Achievers reiterates its commitment to expanding its presence on the Microsoft platform, with plans to launch a Microsoft 365 Copilot agent in early 2025 to further enhance user experience and productivity.

More Specifics On The App’s New Feature Set
A new welcome message, built using an Adaptive Card in Teams, helps users discover the app’s key features.
The home tab sign-in process has also been updated, allowing users to return to Teams after sign-in and improving device responsiveness. Additionally, the newsfeed has been optimised for better screen usage and naming conventions, aligning more closely with the Achievers platform experience.
Lastly, just-in-time installation simplifies adding the Achievers app to 1:1 Chats, Channels, or Group Chats, ensuring it’s instantly available to all participants.
What Other Teams News Has Happened Recently?
Last week, Microsoft confirmed that in February, all Android-based Teams devices will receive a “mandatory” update for “session flows”.
Starting June 2025, Microsoft Teams phone devices, displays, panels, and Rooms on Android running firmware older than five months will cease to function. To avoid disruptions, Microsoft is urging admins to regularly update devices through the Teams admin centre, ensuring all hardware remains up-to-date with the latest firmware.
Meanwhile, last month, it was announced that the highly-anticipated native SMS messaging is coming to Microsoft Teams.
Beginning in February 2025, Microsoft Teams Calling Plan users in the United States and Canada will gain access to a new feature available on both desktop and mobile. This feature aims to streamline communication with external individuals on different UCaaS platforms, fostering improved cross-platform collaboration.
