Lifesize Buys Kaptivo for Next-Gen Collaboration

Global innovator of immersive solutions for enterprise communication, Lifesize, recently announced a new acquisition. Lifesize will be buying Kaptivo, a digital collaboration solutions company. Adding Kaptivo to its portfolio allows Lifesize to expand its wide selection of cloud solutions. Already, Lifesize supports video, meeting rooms, contact centres, and UCC.

Kaptivo creates solutions for remote brainstorming, content creation, and planning in a digital collaboration space. The Kaptivo product portfolio addresses an often overlooked part of remote meetings. The system connects millions of traditional whiteboards with modern tools, for easier teaching, and drawing.

Kaptivo’s advanced image processing software eliminates reflections and shadows, as well as people standing in front of a whiteboard. The solution also promises enterprise-grade security.

Lifesize Announces New Whiteboard Application

Following the acquisition of Kaptivo, Lifesize also announced the immediate arrival of a new digital whiteboard application, powered by the company. The Kaptivo system enhances remote collaboration in Lifesize video meetings. This is crucial in a time when Nemertes says that more than half of organisations are planning to use whiteboards digitally by 2021.

According to CEO of Lifesize, Craig Malloy, Kaptivo is a natural addition to Lifesize, with a talented team and unique technology sure to accelerate innovation. Lifesize is looking forward to expanding it’s collaboration offering and helping organizations work more effectively together.

According to Visiolib’s technical director, Bonoit Bodenave, the company is an avid fan of Kaptivo and Lifesize video conferencing. The distributed team for the business frequently engages over video and digital content sharing. The acquisition from Lifesize is an exciting step forward, and a deeper integration between platforms will help professionals that need unstructured, high-definition digital interactions.

New Functionality to Come

Integrating Kaptivo into the Lifesize roadmap will allow the company to offer new solutions. For instance:

  • Remote work solutions: Users can digitize any content, including figures and diagrams, to work collaboratively with people around the globe in secure video meetings. Automatic translation, bi-directional annotation, and other options are on the horizon too.
  • Advanced meeting room collaboration: Companies can purchase and deploy single-vendor bundles for outfitting meeting rooms and their whiteboards with collaborative and interactive tools.
  • Advanced collaboration for education: maintain the in-classroom experience for whiteboarding, while conducting one-on-one distance learning and hybrid environments.
  • Advanced collaboration for contact centres: Enhance the abilities of contact centre agents using the CxEngage Video system. This allows for annotation of customer-facing content, like statements of billing.

Current CEO of Kaptivo, David Hsieh will be joining the Lifesize Executive team following the acquisition. According to David, the entire team at Kaptivo is thrilled to be joining Lifesize. As businesses and schools continue to adjust to remote work, advanced solutions that make all forms of employment more engaging are going to be essential.

Lifesize and Kaptivo are now uniquely positioned to accelerate in this new marketplace.
