Recently, Facebook announced that the “Other” category in its revenue reports, responsible for VR technology like the Oculus headset, has doubled over the last year. As more consumers and companies alike search for better tools for collaboration and communication, VR is emerging as a vital way to bridge the gaps between people. Commenting on the recent development of the Oculus, Facebook announced that they’re integrating the headset with Facebook Messenger for communication.
The new integration will allow users to reach contacts on their Messenger list from within their Oculus headset. It’s also possible to turn conversations with colleagues and friends into a party on Oculus within a few clicks too!
Sinch Purchases Inteliquent
Leading provider of voice, video, SMS, and verification APIs, Sinch, recently announced the strategic acquisition of Inteliquent. The purchase aims to strengthen Sinch’s presence in the US market, and it has cost Sinch $1.14 billion in total. The deal is the fifth to appear from Sinch in the last year, and it could also give the company a more significant position in the markets of India and Latin America.
Commenting on the recent purchase, the CEO of Sinch, Oscar Werner, went on to say that Inteliquent serves some of the largest and most demanding customers for voice in America. The company is well-known for its powerful network and amazing voice quality. This is a good buy for the Sinch team.
