UC Summit Round Up, Week One: Unified Comms

Last year we introduced our inaugural version of UC Summit. It launched with a vision of delivering business leaders the info and insights needed to make informed decisions about the technology that powers their organizations.

Now in its second year, the team over at UC Summit has had the chance to fine-tune the 100 percent digital event. If you did not attend UC Summit 2021, you missed out on a lot, but not to worry. Sessions are available on-demand throughout the duration of the weeks-long Unified Communications, Collaboration, and Customer Experience-focused event.

Despite the pandemic, this year’s UC Summit grew even bigger, giving organizers the chance to showcase the very technology UC Summit runs on. The first week focused on unified communications and featured unique and in-depth sessions located within the UC Summit portal. There, you can also find a reception area, a calendar of upcoming sessions, on-demand gatherings, a list of exhibitors, and a lot more. You can even network with fellow attendees.

What did I miss?

Jay Latta

Jay Latta

Emerging Technology Strategist, Jay Latta, gave a chat focused on the future of work and Digital Darwinism highlighting that the world has changed a lot over the past 12 months. He noted that nearly everything on the face of the planet has shifted on its axis, as have some of the most basic rules of engagement, and Latta credits innovation as the key to helping humanity adapt to the ‘new normal.’ He continued, adding: How we use technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) will remain crucial to setting up post-pandemic global health structures.

You also missed a keynote titled ‘Redefining Work Culture Through Technology’ presented by Will Moxley, Chief Product Officer, and SVP, RingCentral. The folks at AudioCodes made an appearance at this year’s summit, too. This time, represented by Nimrode Borovsky, VP and GM Enterprise, AudioCodes. He gave a chat called ‘Accelerating IT Transformation in Challenging Times.’

There was also a panel, one of who discussed the transition companies undergo when shifting from Cloud PBX services to UCaaS. The chat, presented by Josh Jeffries, Head of IT Faststream, and James Brennan, Head of Product, IR.

Claire Dutton, Head of Corporate Sales UK & Ireland, Poly and Jen Adams, Global Go-to-Market Strategy & Programs, both, presented research on the user workstyles, technology needs, and adoption. Looking at the state of unified communications and collaboration, Analysts Blair Pleasant, Dom Black, and Zeus Kerravala all gave their take on the market in 2020 and examined what we’re in store for in 2021.

What’s in store for week 2? – Collaboration Week

We kick things off again this week with several guest speakers poised to discuss the future of collaboration. Jason Wyatt, UC Consultant and Alliance Manager, EMEA, AudioCodes; Brian Gregory, Director of Channel Marketing, Ribbon Communications; Marcus-Michael Muller, Head of Unified Communications Europe, Yamaha Music Europe, and Matt Brown, VP of Product, Voxbone (now Bandwidth), are all set to make appearances this week.

Whew, that’s it. I was sure not to provide any direct spoilers, so if you want to find out more about what happened last week at UC Summit or attend any future sessions, you’ll have to register for the free event. It runs for two more weeks, with on-demand content at your fingertips.
