The Cisco Webex ecosystem represents a powerful toolkit for today’s hybrid teams. Like many modern solutions for collaboration and communication, Webex is frequently updating with new features and capabilities to make your work-life simpler.

For May, Webex has introduced a selection of tools revolving around the Webex app, meetings, and scheduling, among other features. Here’s what you need to know about the latest Webex capabilities.

The Webex App and Meetings

Webex is now making it easier to start your day in the right place by allowing users to choose a default landing tab based on their workflow in the Webex app. Users and admins can preselect the tab they want to land on when they log in.

Webex also recently introduced the Webex Desk camera and Webex app integration to allow users to control how they share video in meetings and calls. There’s a privacy shutter master switch for the desktop app, which automatically turns off the video when you close it.

For Meetings, Webex introduced a new in-app meeting scheduler, so you can add important details, check attendee availability and more, all in the same place. Custom meeting layouts have also expanded, with the option to drag and drop participants into the Webex “stage” and sync the view for all meeting participants.

Cisco Webex Messaging, Calling, and Devices

Webex Messaging customers can now mark messages as unread to remind them of conversations they need to follow up on. You can also easily retrace your steps within Spaces by using arrows to move back and forth between spaces you’ve visited before.

Additional mobile options have been added for Webex calling, including DBS 110 DECT. Webex Control Hub will allow admins to control access from new devices.

Speaking of devices, Webex has also introduced new additional accessories for the easy cleaning and management of shared spaces. Metal grills for the Webex Room Kit Mini and medical silicon removable covers for handsets make hygiene easier.

Users can optimise camera and microphone capabilities for the Webex Room Kit Mini with 5 times digital zoom and enhanced tuning for internal microphone audio. The Room Kit Mini helps to ensure everyone in a meeting is seen and heard.

Integrations and Contact Centre Solutions

From an integrations perspective, Webex has now introduced Slack integrations for private and public channel meetings. You can use simple bot commands to set up meeting policies for mobile and desktop users through the new integration.

In the Webex Contact Centre, Cisco has introduced new features to support better agent experiences and enhance operation management too. New features include AI agent experiences with agent answers to deliver more proactive call and transcript guidance. Users can choose between a range of device options when working in the office or at home. Plus, a multi-tab gadget reduces the need to switch between tabs.

The expanded features for IT admins include simplified patch and update orchestration, expanded observability with native AppDynamics integration, and increased concurrent agent support for up to 36,000 agents.
