Mida Solutions has introduced a new version of its voice and video application, Mida Recorder. The solution is able to support selective, on-demand and total recording and is suitable for legacy environments such as Cisco and Avaya deployments as well as for Teams and Zoom environments.

Among the advances, Mida Recorder now offers an improved user experience (UX) via a dedicated portal called Playback Station, where recorded files can be played, searched and listened to. Previously they were available in the Mida Unified Portal (MUP) but recently the two  elements have been separated to maintain the MUP only for Mida products configurations. Users can access Playback Station through any supported web browser, including Chromium.

The new version features a revised look and feel that is similar to Mida’s Attendant Console and therefore provides graphical continuity to customers. The unified appearance also delivers a user interface (UI) that is intuitive and attractive to use. Recorded call backup can be accommodated either on network attached storage (NAS) or in the cloud via providers such as Azure or Google Cloud. The administrator of the system can schedule automatic backups or set automatic backup time interval options. Files can also be encrypted with an anti-tampering signature to prevent attacks and compressed for efficient storage.

“Nowadays relying on a solid recording application is key for many businesses,” explained Giulio Biondo, the Research and Development Manager at Mida Solutions. “It’s not just a matter of compliance with privacy regulations. In the transportation environment for example, recorded communications are indispensable for scenario reconstruction. We therefore designed the new Playback Station in order to enable users and supervisors to find files in the shortest possible time.”

In addition to the improved user interface, backup and cloud capabilities, the new version of Mida Recorder has added several other benefits. The new version optimises listening to calls with files immediately available to be listened to in a single click. In addition multiple calls can be listened to and downloaded at the same time, maximising productivity.

There are several options that can be selected by users; they can configure the Playback Station according to their preferences, giving priority to the fields they use most often or need to see first. The system also allows users to add notes and tags to files which they can mark as important.

In addition, the new version offers an advanced call searching area in which users can use additional search parameters to discover recordings based on advanced call metadata. Finally, the system allows for three classes of user to be defined – user, supervisor and administrator. The flexible, modular architecture means that customers can utilise centralised call archiving alongside total recording functionality that supports all technologies and protocols.

The new version of Mida Recorder provides a unified recording platform that is a 100% virtualised solution. This allows rapid solution design, simple deployment and maintenance which save cost. Mida Recorder also ensures compliance with the latest privacy regulations, such as GDPR and MIFID2, and offers blockchain secure recordings.
