- What is Workplace from Meta?
This month’s releases include knowledge library and support ticket updates, email customisations, files and media tab, login settings access, and focussed content notifications.
The online collaboration software tool, Workplace from Meta, provides monthly updates of its latest innovations.
Knowledge Library Updates
Workspace has introduced the option to customise the colours of your Knowledge Library. By adding brand colours, employees can be assured they are accessing the Knowledge Library’s trusted source of company information. Categories and collections can both be given colour customisations by admins, using a hex code or colour picker. Colour choices can be saved to make it easy for other admins to reuse them.
Automatic translations of content in Knowledge Library categories are also being added. Following automatic translation, further changes can be made to the text, but the capability should save time for businesses that would have previously had to translate all content manually before uploading it. This feature is only available on the desktop web version of Workplace.
Based on feedback from customers, Workplace has added the capability to invite people to view knowledge library subcategories. Crucially, the admin can choose how much access to provide: specific people, groups, subcategories, or the whole Workplace.
Customer Support Tickets Update
Admins managing Workplace Support tickets can now export all tickets. This will enable admins to more easily interact with data, sort tickets, view other admins actively creating support tickets, and find patters in bug reports.
When support tickets have been updated, a notification will appear in a new icon in the Contact Support section of the Admin Panel, as well as their main notifications section. This will help admins to keep track of support ticket updates.
Email Customisations
Using Inviter Recognition, admins can send emails from a specific person in the company, such as an executive, to make them seem more authentic. The Invite Content Manager can be used to create customised templated for Workplace invitations.
Files and Media Tab
The previously separate files and media tabs, which are closely aligned, are now being brought under the same tab of ‘Files and media’. As a result, all files, photos, and videos can be accessed from the same place.
Login Settings Access
The content integration login setters are being moved inside the user settings to make them more accessible. Previously, the integrations settings page incorporated settings for chat bots and content integrations, which resulted in confusion and fewer content integrations.
Focussed Content Notifications
A change is being made to the content focus when selecting notifications. When the user chooses a notification, the focus shifts directly to the subject matter of the notification, whether it is a post or comment. Before, users had to select notifications using their keyboard and, although the relevant feed was loaded, the key item of the notification was not being shown. This feature is only available on the desktop web version of Workplace.
Workplace from Meta is an all-in-one business communication platform, which combines a company’s intranet and tools with video, chat, and groups.
Highlights of Workplace from Meta’s releases last month included new insights, customisation options, and admin courses on Workplace Academy.
