The face of the office has been rapidly transforming over the past few years as demands change due to various social, political, economic and technological factors.
Wireless technology is on the minds of many prospective buyers, and it is predicted to be a key component for offices of the future, as it adds an ease and flexibility of use that is quickly becoming an expectation for employees, IT departments, and managers.
Grandstream, the communications devices manufacturer, provides wireless solutions to connect unified communications systems and VoIP with Wi-Fi. Its product range also extends to include solutions which are meeting other increasingly popular demands.
Lee Sinclair, Managing Director of BNS Distribution, shared customer-based insights into the future of the office: “Traditional work models are no longer meeting the needs of the workforce.
“A lot of the generational shifts are forcing companies to deploy a hybrid workplace, demanding flexibility and automation.
“Our customer feedback has shown us that the health and well-being of staff are essential, and hospitality is key for visitor experience.
“Coworking options across multiple locations are in demand, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion. The workplace should be somewhere that is for all people, including those with visible and invisible disabilities as well.”
Gartner’s Top Strategic Technology Trends 2023 research found that by 2025, 60% of enterprises will be using five or more wireless technologies simultaneously.
The report stated: “The integration of multiple wireless technologies will provide a more cost-efficient, reliable and scalable technical foundation that reduces capital expenditure.”
The “wireless-value realization” trend goes beyond Wi-Fi in the office to include services for mobile devices, low-power services, radio connectivity, and more.
According to Gartner’s report, Bosch-Siemens uses ultrasonic sensors to slow down forklifts in real time, preventing accidents, reducing near misses by 98%, and increasing productivity by 10%.
Wi-Fi Networking Solutions
Grandstream enables companies to deploy VoIP and UC networks over Wi-Fi while reducing network infrastructure by removing wiring. Included within its Wi-Fi networking solutions are routers, indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi access points, and Wi-Fi management platforms. The series comes with a three-year guarantee.
Its solutions provide powerful and secure Wi-Fi networks with a wide range of coverage, which is a must-have in any modern office. The company offers Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6, two recent iterations of the Wi-Fi network protocol. Grandstream says it is the “most credible of Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 providers” available on the market.
Further benefits of Grandstream’s Wi-Fi solution include increased mobility and flexibility for employees. Work devices can be easily moved between home and the office, allowing workers to quickly and seamlessly connect to office Wi-Fi and log in to their work accounts. Network management is also made easier as the entire office can operate from the same single network.
Modern features such as QoS and roaming capabilities make it simpler to separate VoIP traffic from other traffic, ensuring devices can easily roam from one access point to another. This means workers can move throughout the office, using any device, with zero handoff between access points (APs).
All components of a solution, from networks to access points, provide an all-in-one solution for offices, which removes the need for laboriously searching for and maintaining a multi-vendor solution. For those who wish to use alternate providers or that already have pre-existing devices in place, Grandstream’s solutions offer interoperability with the most popular third-party vendors.
These solutions are just the tip of the iceberg for Grandstream. Its extensive product range is one of the company’s key differentiators, according to Sinclair: “What sets Grandstream apart is the fact that it enables you to put all the various office technology solutions together, which you would need to do for a true voice solution.
“Through Grandstream, businesses can get PBX, SIP service, Wi-Fi, APs, voice, and video conferencing as a complete wireless voice and video solution, all under one roof.”
Looking ahead at Grandstream’s product roadmap, Sinclair shared that it is planning to release new Android 11 video phones, a hotel phone range, and IP switches around the beginning of next year. The switches are a particularly highly anticipated launch, given they are included on every network that accommodates voice calls.
