Tata Communications Unveils JAMVEE Cloud Calling for Enterprises

Tata Communications has recently launched JAMVEE, an integrated, simplified cloud-based business phone solution for global enterprises, to help enhance employee productivity through easy collaboration features. UC Today’s George Malim caught up with Tata Communications’ Vivek Kar, who is the AVP of Product Management, GlobalRapide to learn more about the offering.

George Malim: What is JAMVEE and why have you introduced it?

VK: With Covid acting as a catalyst for hurried migration from phone systems to cloud based applications, enterprises overlooked the basic need for dual-personas for their employees – to encompass their business identity and their personal identity. UCaaS applications though effective for close user group engagement, do not generally have calling features activated for all employees due to high total cost of ownership (TCO). With this realisation setting in, we’ve seen enterprises’ needs for a cloud-based calling application that is simple to use as a standalone solution or can be integrated with other collaboration tools.,

JAMVEE has been developed to cater for the need for cloud-based business phones – available on Android / IoS / Windows Desktop / WebRTC – providing high quality call and messaging experiences to employees.

As the numbers are owned by the enterprise and are not an employee personal number business continuity is assured even when an employee leaves the organisation. It provides additional benefits of monitoring and management by the employer.

JAMVEE can be -either deployed as a standalone solution or as a calling solution with an existing collaboration platform.  The application itself has a low cost of ownership and comes with flexible plans for calling and options for data roaming.

Hybrid working is here to stay and will continue to evolve, so any worker will need a full suite of embedded collaboration tools so they can work effectively. We’ve designed JAMVEE with this in mind so enterprises can access a lean, secure, and scalable collaboration set-up for their employees to benefit from the range of services and facilities JAMVEE delivers.

GM: What types of user is JAMVEE targeted at?

VK: JAMVEE appeals best to enterprises that have a sizeable number of frontline or knowledge workers. The simple interface enables users to collaborate with colleagues though IP-based calling or messaging in a closed user group (CUG) or engage with external stakeholders through PSTN-based dial in and out. JAMVEE also provides additional PBX-based functionality like recording or forwarding.

JAMVEE bundled with Tata Communications’ MOVE SIM, targets enterprises whose employees have to travel extensively. It ensures seamless data connectivity on the move through MOVE platform and calling enabled on Tata Communications’ Tier 1 voice infrastructure.

GM: How can enterprises ensure they are compliant with regulations and are in control of management aspects of the solution?

VK: Tata Communications has been in the voice business for decades and has a solid understanding of the regulatory landscape across the globe. JAMVEE offers a regulation compliance with fraud prevention APIs, detection and alerting features to ensure complete conversation security and reliability.

In addition, JAMVEE can help enterprises to eliminate cost over-runs when deploying large-scale applications with features that require in-depth and elaborate user training. Thanks to its simplicity, JAMVEE removes this need and users can simply turn to Tata Communications to provide and manage cloud-first employee engagement solutions. JAMVEE enables enterprises to continue to benefit from our single go-to-partner approach and come to Tata Communications for all their secure collaboration requirements.
