GTT and Zoom Phone Partner for Enhanced Voice Solutions

GTT and Zoom Phone have partnered to deliver enhanced voice solutions for businesses.

GTT’s SIP Trunking customers now have access to Zoom Phone’s Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) services with a more simplified process following the addition of Zoom Phone Provider Exchange functionality. The partnership between GTT and Zoom enables GTT customers to leverage the self-service means of Provider Exchange and integrate GTT as their voice provider within their Zoom Phone platform.

Mark Jenkins, Head of Strategic Alliances at Zoom, commented:

With GTT’s SIP Trunking and Zoom’s BYOC services, enterprises now have a clear and simplified migration path to a cloud solution from their organization’s legacy on-premises PBX, allowing them to stay productive, efficient and connected.”

Zoom Phone and GTT’s SIP Trunking offer low latency global calling across six continents through GTT’s voice network, as empowered by GTT’s global Tier 1 IP backbone.

Zoom Phone BYOC enables customers to utilise GTT for phone numbers, encompassing number porting and global and emergency calling. Organisations with locations and employees in countries covered by GTT can leverage Zoom Phone through BYOC connectivity”.

“Delivering critical business communication capabilities over a single global IP connection, GTT SIP Trunking improves collaboration and infrastructure efficiency,” added Todd Kiehn, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Product at GTT.” GTT’s fully redundant, global and robust SIP-based network has been purpose-built to meet the demands of bandwidth-intensive applications like Zoom Phone, providing a better-quality user experience for enterprise customers.”

Customers can utilise Zoom Phone’s comprehensive feature set while enjoying GTT’s global voice services for outbound calling, in addition to free office-to-office calls, new and ported Direct Inward Dialing numbers and toll-free services.

What Has Zoom Been Up To This Past Week?

Earlier this week, Zoom AI Companion hit the one million meeting summary milestone.

Zoom’s generative AI assistant has achieved the figure less than two months since the solution’s launch, with over 125,000 accounts leveraging the service. To celebrate the accomplishment, Zoom has revealed new capabilities, additional language support, and improvements to existing capabilities for AI Companion, such as meeting coaching and in-meeting questions.

Zoom AI Companion will also be updated with several new features in November, such as meeting summary overviews becoming available in summaries generated through continuous meeting chat.

Last week, Zoom and Lumen partnered to deliver enhanced VoIP experiences for businesses. The two businesses combined the latter’s reliable network infrastructure and phone services with Zoom’s feature-rich cloud phone system. The partnership expansion refines a simple and secure approach for companies to collaborate anywhere and anytime.

The partnership involves Lumen providing Enhanced Local Service (ELS), Wholesale Long Distance (LD) and Wholesale Toll Free (TF) services to Zoom. This allows Zoom to offer Lumen Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connectivity with its cloud Zoom Phone solution.

Zoom also announced its internet software vendor (ISV) programme last week, which includes notable partners such as Theta Lake and Verint.

The programme expands upon Zoom Partner Connect and will enable Zoom to resell choice ISV solutions directly to customers. By integrating partner services within the Zoom platform, the video conferencing and collaboration giant can address more customer demands and simplify the purchasing process with a unified, all-inclusive experience.
