Mitel has appointed Luiz Domingos as its new Chief Technology Officer.
Domingos’s remit encompasses Mitel’s innovation agenda and spearheading the company’s technology vision and strategy. He will collaborate closely with the R&D department and product development leaders to maintain the integration of emerging technologies in Mitel’s product roadmaps. Domingos’s additional responsibilities entail providing executive direction on growing Mitel’s flexible UC solutions to consider evolving customer needs.
Domingos has also been named Head of Large Enterprise R&D and joined Mitel through the company’s Unify acquisition earlier this year.
Domingos said:
I am thrilled and honoured to take on this role, especially during such a significant time at Mitel. The UC sector is evolving rapidly, and I believe we are exceptionally well-positioned to deliver the next-gen communications experiences our customers need to grow and thrive. As Mitel enters a new era as a global UC powerhouse, our commitment to innovation and technical excellence has never been stronger.”
Domingos’s CV illustrates two decades of delivering innovative communication and collaboration offerings, overseeing prestigious R&D teams, and producing high-quality products. During his time at Unify, he was Chief Product and Technology Officer, overseeing the portfolio and innovating disruptive cloud solutions.
“Innovation is an integral part of Mitel’s DNA, and adding Luiz’s knowledge and experience will allow us to further capitalize on integrating emerging technologies into our world-class portfolio,” added Tarun Loomba, Mitel President and Chief Executive Officer. “His leadership will be especially valuable as we bring together Mitel and Unify’s extensive R&D operations over the coming months and deliver a combined go-to-market strategy and product portfolio.”
Mitel’s 2023 Has Featured Change at the Top
It has been a year of executive change for Mitel.
Last month, the vendor appointed Charles-Henry Duroyan as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).
Duroyon will oversee Mitel’s global business operations, supply chain, and data privacy office. He will also manage the business’s strategic planning and M&A initiatives.
Following Mitel’s recent acquisition of Unify and its plans for further market share expansion, Duroyon’s remit will encompass creating operational strategies that enable company growth initiatives and optimise organisational efficiency while maintaining quality, compliance, and accountability in key business metrics.
In September, Mitel appointed Sophie Ames as its new EVP and Head of Human Resources Operations in more than 30 countries. Her official title at Mitel will be Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and Chief People Officer (CPO), securing her a position in the company’s C-suite.
Ames will be responsible for creating and introducing new initiatives, attracting and securing talent, promoting positive employee experiences, and aligning individual working goals with the business’s overall strategy.
